Vehicle Description: 1962 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible: Project car selling @ NO RESERVE. High Bidder Buys the Car. Serious Bidders Only PLEASE. Car is equipped with power everything including, windows, locks, seats, top, and with FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING!! I will be happy to answer any questions. Just email them. I also encourage the prospective buyers to view the car first if possible? Or have someone look at it for you. This car is in Very Good Condition for its age. No rust on car. Always been stored indoors. Very Solid Project Car to Restore or Customize. Body lines are Straight. UNDERNEATH is VERY DRY. No Rust underneath noted (SEE Photos) 71k Original Miles Interior: Seats in car are in driver condition. Rear Upper Seat panel has been restored with all new padding/backing/ springs restored. Included with the car are 2 rolls of material/fabric. There is more than enough material to have an upholstery shop recover All Seats and the other roll is an exact match of the door panels. All Door panel hardware and trim in nice shape. Just need recovered. As you can see from the photos, the interior carpet is out and the floors are 100% solid with no rust. There is a box with Brand new gold original carpet included with car. Dash is included with car as are ALL parts + MANY MANY MANY EXTRA PARTS to complete entire car (see parts photo which is only partial photo of parts for this car!). Dash is in good condition with no cracks. Just needs fresh paint. Exterior: The paint on the car is the factory Cadillac Gold color done in Lacquer. It was repainted years ago when the restoration started. Car will need lightly sanded and freshened up to be perfect. There are a few scratches and chips from storage. Or possibly new owner will desire a color change??? Like Black! Any way the body is very straight and we found no rust. Engine: This car starts right up easily and runs very strong. Might need rebuild?? Its Original. Note: This car is a project and has as far as we can tell ALL parts to re-assemble + a Boat Load of Extra/ Doulbles / Triples and more of All kinds of Parts. Everything goes with Car. ALL loose parts will be carefully packaged into the trunk etc. for shipping. We will try our best to get everything in the car carefully for shipping but it is possible that there will be additional boxes of parts that do not fit in the car as there as SO many!! First Cadillac ELR rolls off the line
Thu, 30 May 2013Gearing up for the Belle Isle Grand Prix this weekend, General Motors invited some of the Chevrolet and Cadillac racecar drivers out to its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. While there, the racers - including IndyCar Driver and Chevrolet Volt owner, Simona De Silvestro - witnessed the very first 2014 Cadillac ELR to roll off the assembly line.
These vehicles are not destined for customers, however, but instead pre-production units will be used by engineers for testing purposes. Actual production of ELR consumer models is expected to commence closer to the end of this year. As a refresher, this range-extended electric Cadillac shares much of its powertrain with the Volt but will have a sportier coupe design inspired by the Converj Concept. GM laying off 510 amidst slow Cadillac, small car sales
Wed, 12 Nov 2014General Motors is laying off about 510 workers from two factories beginning in January, and it could be months before the automaker needs some of that latent capacity to come back on line. A combination of poor sales and high dealer inventories are prompting the cutbacks, according to Automotive News.
The largest changes come at GM's Lansing Grand River plant, where the Cadillac ATS and CTS are made. An entire shift of about 350 workers is being laid off, but the automaker hopes to find positions for some of them at other nearby factories. The decision leaves just a single shift building vehicles there. According to Automotive News, the move is partially spurred by Johan de Nysschen's plan to make Cadillac a more exclusive brand.
The lost shift will likely return for production of the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro at the plant, according to the report, but GM isn't saying when that will be. A previous announcement from the Canadian Auto Workers union indicated that the Oshawa, Ontario, factory would lose the coupe in late 2015 or early 2016.
Cadillac V-Series Academy comes to Las Vegas [w/video]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013General Motors has added another high-speed education course to the curriculum at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. The desert track already hosts the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School with Chevrolet Corvettes, including the ZR1, and they've just added the Cadillac V-Series Academy.
Open now, the one- and two-day performance driving school teaches "the finer points of high performance driving" using the 556-horspower instructional aids known as the CTS-V sedan, coupe and wagon. This is different than than using the CTS-V at the Monticello Motor Club on the east coast - that's part of a sponsorship deal that Cadillac has with the track. The driving course at the Motorsports Ranch is its own program that was developed by Fellows, and we have no reason to think the Cadillac edition won't be just as thorough and enjoyable as the one with Corvettes.
Unlike the 'Vette edition, however, it doesn't appear that you get an invitation to the program if you buy a CTS-V model. Classes are capped at 12 participants and run $1,295 for a single day, $2,295 for two days. There are a video and a press release below with more info.
