THIS IS A GREAT PROJECT CAR IN NEED OF RESTORATION TO ONCE AGAIN BECOME ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CARS AND LAST FOR ANOTHER 60 YEARS. A 1964 CADILLAC DEVILLE IN A GOOD CONDITION IN NEED OF GETTING RESTORED. A NICE RESTORATION WILL MAKE THIS CAR SHINE. IT IS ALL ORIGINAL AND WELL MAINTAINED FOR AN ALMOST 60 YEARS OLD CAR. IT HAS ORIGINAL LEATHER SEATS WHICH AT SOME POINT WAS COVERED BY ANOTHER BLUE UPHOLSTERY AND A BLUE COLOR FLOOR CARPET WITH NO TEARS, BUT IN NEED OF A COMPLETE DETAILING. THE ENGINE STARTS AND RUNS BUT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDS FIXING. THE TRANSMISSION WORKS FINE. IT HAS A NEW REBUILD STARTER. IT HAS ORIGINAL AIR CONDITION, BUT THE AC COMPRESSOR BELT IS NOT ON THERE ARE MINOR RUSTS. THE EXTERIOR BODY IS GOOD EXCEPT A VERY SMALL DENT ON THE FRONT RIGHT FENDER. THE INTERIOR NEEDS WORK AND THE RIGHT REAR DOOR PANEL IS LOOSLEY ATTACHED WITH WIRES DISCONNECTED. THE REAR RIGHT WINDOW IS DOWN. THE TRUNK LATCH MECHANISM DOES NOT LATCH THE TRUNK LID IN ORDER TO KEEP IT LOCKED. THE CHROMES TRIMS, FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS LOOK GOOD. THE FRONT RIGHT HUBCAP IS INSIDE THE TRUNK AND THE REST ARE ON THE CAR. THE MILEAGE REFLECTS THE ODOMETER READING AND IT IS AN ESTIMATION. THIS IS A PROJECT CAR IN NEED OF RESTORATION. Cadillac ATS was almost front-wheel drive
Wed, 03 Apr 2013"We were going to do a front-wheel drive Cadillac compact off of Delta because it was going to be less expensive," Doug Parks, General Motors' vice president of global product programs, told the Automotive News during the Detroit Auto Show in January of this year. That sentence, referring to early ATS discussions more than five years ago - a period when the automaker, and the industry, was struggling - reveals that Cadillac's highly acclaimed rear-wheel drive compact sedan almost never happened.
Parks revealed that that automaker actually built a 2.0-liter test mule, on GM's Delta platform (shared with the Chevrolet Cruze and Buick Verano) and tested it in Europe. While the prototype was "pretty darn good," according to Parks, the team realized that in order to compete against Mercedes-Benz and BMW it would have to invest in a new rear-wheel drive platform.
The resulting all-new Alpha platform would eventually underpin the Cadillac ATS, and many would argue that its balanced rear-wheel drive chassis is its single most important attribute. Thankfully, the Alpha's goodness won't stop with the ATS. The upcoming 2014 Cadillac CTS and the future Camaro will also share its architecture, meaning the Cimarron will remain a distant memory.
GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles
Fri, 04 Jan 2013As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

SRX-replacing Cadillac XT5 spied for the very first time
Thu, 30 Oct 2014Cadillac has got big plans in place to revitalize its lineup, with new sedans, coupes and crossovers. And it all starts with this, the replacement for the SRX.
Expected to be called XT5 in line with the brand's new naming scheme, the crossover will be based on a scalable new platform called C1XX - or Chi, for short. In its shorter form, Chi is anticipated to underpin the XT5 as well as a new Chevy crossover and the next-gen GMC Acadia. In long-wheelbase form, the platform is slated to give us a larger Cadillac crossover as well as a new Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse.
Power in the XT5 will be provided by a choice of turbo four or atmospheric six, potentially to be transmitted through GM's new nine-speed automatic.
