Beautiful 1966 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Convertible. Gold with black interior.  I am only the second person to title this car. Car was purchased new in Chicago and owner moved to San Diego where the car stayed until I purchased it 5 years ago. Car has new engine (December '12) with only 2K miles on it. Engine warrantied for 7 years/70K miles.  Starts and runs perfectly.  Engine is super strong and smooth.  This car glides down the road like it is on air.  It really is a pleasure to drive.  I have replaced the shocks, tires, and brakes, etc.  The interior has been completely redone in black leather with custom embroidery in the headrests (see pictures).  New carpet. Incredible sounding stereo system (deck hidden in the glovebox and speakers hidden and not noticeable).  Power Convertible top works as it perfectly.  Converitible top has been replaced new cloth top. Convertible pump and motor replaced also.  Trunk interior has been redone with leather wrapped boxes, custom trunk lid cover and new carpet (see pictures).  Air conditioning blows cold (A/C is run by an on/off switch as head unit does not work).  A/C compressor, etc has been replaced. All belts, hoses, maintenance done. Exterior is in good shape.  Car was repainted 4 years ago, it is a driver quality paint job, I'd give it about a 6 or so. Paint has a few chips, etc.  Undercarriage of the car is super clean. Car is laser straight.  No rust issues. Car is solid.  This is not a museum car, it is a driver. I drive it everywhere and it is dependable enough to drive it anywhere.  Chrome has not been redone and has some small pitting, etc, but it cleans and shines up very nicely. Please keep in mind the car is 48 years old. Overall this is a great looking vehicle that gets looks and smiles everywhere we go.  If you are looking for a fun car to drive with the family, you won't be disappointed in this vehicle. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is for sale locally.  Please email me with any questions. Thank you.

2015 Cadillac ATS-V gunning for the BMW M3

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

Spy photographers have spotted something interesting. Cadillac engineers have taken to public streets with the upcoming ATS-V and a playmate: the current BMW M3 Sedan. The prototype seen here wears a more aggressive front fascia, flared fenders and beefy brakes. Quad exhaust tips and what looks to be a small lip spoiler on the trunk deck sum up the most obvious visual changes over the standard ATS outside. Word has it the ATS-V will bow with the same twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 available in the nose of the XTS. In that application, the engine is good for a stout 410 horsepower, which should be more than enough to hustle the sedan around a track.
Other details are still murky, however. First and foremost: will GM offer the ATS-V with an honest manual transmission, like it does with its big brother, the CTS-V? Something tells us we won't have long to wait to find out - the machine will likely bow next year as a 2015 model. Until then, dig in on our newest bevy of spy photos.

2014 Cadillac CTS

Fixated By Europeans, GM Ensures The Third Time Is A Charm
Few things are better for consumers than competition raising the bar. And no campaign seems fiercer than the one currently underway in the midsize sport-sedan segment now that Cadillac has introduced its all-new 2014 CTS to go head-to-head against the benchmark Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
While the CTS has been on the market for slightly more than a decade, up until this third-generation, Cadillac hasn't truly had the proper high-performance rear-wheel-drive architecture to build a genuine world-class fighter, both inside and out. And now that the American automaker has successfully mirrored Audi, BMW and Mercedes in overall vehicle size, engine output and cabin appointments, the first shots have been fired.

GM winding down Chevrolet brand in Europe

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

If you've taken even a cursory look at GM's European strategy and wondered how it can target the market there with both Chevrolet and Opel/Vauxhall, you're not alone. In fact General Motors itself has found it difficult to justify the two-pronged approach. That's why it's essentially pulling Chevy from the European marketplace.
Instead of trying to ply European buyers with what are mostly former Daewoo products rebadged as Chevys, GM will now let Opel (or Vauxhall in the UK) represent its mass-market aspirations. Chevrolet will keep its presence in Russia and other former Soviet markets, and will continue selling certain niche products in Eastern and Western Europe. The Corvette, for example, has long been sold in Europe through Cadillac dealerships, which for its part is currently "finalizing plans for expanding in the European market".
While the shift in strategy is expected to help GM get a stronger foothold in the European market in the long run, in the short term the restructuring will cost it dearly: between $700 million and $1 billion, according to its own estimates, split between the last quarter of this year and the first half of the next.
