1967 CADILLAC COUPE DEVILLE CALAIS

THIS BEAUTIFUL SURVIVOR HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN WELL CARED FOR

AND THEN IT SAT FOR A PERIOD OF TIME  BEFORE I RECENTLY DISCOVERED IT.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT DRIVER FOR EVERY DAY USE. IT RUNS AND DRIVES EVEN BETTER THAN IT LOOKS.

YOU CAN ALSO DRIVE IN PARADES AND ON WEEKENDS.

IT DRAWS LOOKS AND COMPLIMENTS EVERY WHERE I DRIVE IT.

THE ORIGINAL INTERIOR IS NEARLY FLAWLESS. THE CARPET AND SEATS AND HEADLINER ARE ALSO ALL ORIGINAL. ALL THE TINTED GLASS IS BLEMISH FREE.  THE MAGNIFICENT RED PAINT (FROM FIVE FEET AWAY) APPEARS FLAWLESS. THIS CAR IS LASER STRAIGHT AND ALL THERE. THERE IS A CAR COVER THAT WILL COME WITH IT AND MANY SPARE FAN BELTS AND MISC PARTS IN THE TRUNK FOR EMERGENCIES.

THE EQUIPMENT IS MOSTLY THE STANDARD CADILLAC ACCESSORIES;

2013 Cadillac ATS 3.6 AWD

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

All-Wheel, All Right
There is no escaping the luxury all-wheel drive empire Audi has built for itself over the past 15 years. While nearly every high-end marque has at least one offering with power at all four corners, the hardware can't help but play second fiddle to Ingolstadt's Quattro kingdom. Leather-lined all-wheel drive is simply Audi the way minimum wage is an English degree. But General Motors seems hell-bent on raiding as many established fiefdoms as possible with the 2013 Cadillac ATS. Engineers and designers made no secret of the fact that the baby Cadillac was penned specifically to take on the BMW 3 Series, but Audi should be no less concerned about the newest luxury prince from Detroit.
GM has been stuffing all-wheel drive systems under their vehicles for years, but the effort hasn't come without nasty side effects. Unfortunate understeer, extra ride height, smallish wheels and porky curb weight meant opting for all-wheel drive was like signing your driving pleasure's death warrant. Would you like polished brass or brushed nickel hardware for your right foot's coffin, sir?

Cadillac tipped to call flagship something other than LTS

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without large sedans in its lineup, and while the XTS has had to hold down that end of the fort all on its own, it won't have to for too long. That's because the luxury brand in the General Motors portfolio is preparing to roll out its new LTS, stylistically previewed by the Elmiraj concept pictured above. Only now, the latest thinking is that the upcoming flagship model may not be called LTS at all.
As Automotive News points out, Cadillac's naming scheme is all over the place at the moment. The ATS slotting below the CTS makes sense (alphabetically), but where do the ELR, SRX and especially the Escalade fit into that naming hierarchy? And how would LTS - as the project has been known until now - sit above the XTS?
Fortunately, Cadillac may be on the case, as two of the division's most recent senior appointments seem keen to rationalize the naming scheme. One is Uwe Ellinghaus, who joined Cadillac as chief marketing officer late last year. Speaking of the brand's nomenclature last spring, Ellinghaus was quoted as saying, "We are aware that this is currently a weakness of the Cadillac brand." And his new boss is bound to agree.

40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
