Also a scratch on the top off the hood. only dent I can find is on the chrome rocker panel on passengerside outside near rear wheel. vinyl top is cracked and dried out and vinyl trim molding is coming off and needs reworking. the exhaust end (exhaust tip) needs replacement as it has a major rust holes. rear bumper has some surface rust. Only thing that doesn't work is the Cruise Control."

Beautyfull 1977 Cadillac Coupe DeVille for sale, it rides like a dream and runs good. Engine is a massive 425 c.i. with a sound similar to a lions roar, the trunk is massive and I think Jimmy Hoffa is lost somewhere in there and it has seating for you and five of your amigos. I don't like to sell it, but I have limited time (work alot) and money to restore it and I have three other cars to work on. It is a very nice car that just needs some TLC to become a great car. Mileage exempt, should be around 180 000 miles. It is a five digit meter showing 80 000, but I'm sure it's rolled over still incredible solid car for it's age, no rattle or squeeks, SUPER comfortable floaty ride! Could be driven every day, no problem, but this cool car deserves to be restored :)

I have fixed a lot of stuff like the original radio, and put on a lot of new (original part) parts, new interstate battery, new original AC Delco  alternator (1 year 12000 mile warranty), new rear tires, new brake lines, new upper radiator hose, new wheaterstripping around driver door and trunk (15 year warranty), new window filt on driver side, new driver side floorpan (90 rust free warranty), new AC Delco spark plugs, new air duct with air filter, new heater hose, installed new door lock actuator and window motor (driver side), AC Blows cold and was just filled full with freon, retrofitted modern unit, got lots of new parts for it like door seals and door/window filt. Most of the parts come with warranty and I have all the recipts and part order slips for you.

I have been very carefull at servicing and maintaining the car, I go to valvoline and get my oil changes with the good oil (no synthetic stuff either). The car has had two owners before me I believe, was last restored in 1994 and is near complete original, 90 percent I would say. The major stuff to do on it is rustwork, rework the vinyl top and a new exhaust end, still this is a nice car and it wouldn't take too much work to make it a show car as all the plastic fillers are on the car (which are rare on 70-80s cadillacs) exept the one behind the liscence plate (around 150-200 on junkyard or rubbertherightway). Does about 21 mpg while cruising at around 55-60 mph not too bad, but floor it and you'll see about half of that.

If I feel the price is right (above 2000ish) I'll throw in a new car cover, haynes manual, new owners manual, an awesome Cadillac pen and perhaps some other goodies :)

Autoweek divulges details on Presidential limo

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

Ever since the latest presidential limousine, also known as The Beast, debuted in 2009, we've wondered what's underneath that black Cadillac body. We already know a few details, like the fact it isn't a Cadillac at all, but a very heavy duty truck chassis from General Motors with a body that resembles a super-sized Caddy. Autoweek, however, has managed to extract new details from veteran Secret Service agents about the closely guarded presidential limo. Their methods, of course, are classified.
Designed to be a rolling office, bunker and escape pod all in one, the current presidential limo is far different from previous presidential state cars, which were heavily modified production vehicles. As we would expect, The Beast uses thick, military-grade body armor (eight inches on the doors), an armored fuel tank, special run-flat tires with Kevlar lining, an encrypted satellite phone, a fully sealed cabin with its own oxygen supply and a trunk full of weapons and medical equipment that includes a supply of the President's blood type (in case the car gets cut off from the ambulance that's always present in the President's motorcade).
The Beast also comes with a Halon fire-suppression system, night vision and is powered by a V8 engine, which we already knew runs on gas and not diesel, that returns an EPA-unfriendly estimated 3.7 miles per gallon. The Secret Service operates a fleet of 12 limos and each Beast costs $1.5 million. Lastly, AW estimates that the 18-foot-long state car weighs 15,000 pounds, and each Secret Service agent that drives the car must be specially trained to maneuver such a massive vehicle.

Cadillac ATS Coupe headed for Detroit reveal

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without its two-door models. But the XLR has been discontinued for over four years now, the Elmiraj concept may never see production and the future of the CTS Coupe is still up in the air. That leaves just the ELR, which may not be conventional enough for traditional Cadillac coupe buyers. Fortunately a new coupe is coming along to fill the void.
According to Edmunds, Cadillac will reveal the new ATS coupe just a couple of months from now at the Detroit Auto Show. Expected to mechanically mirror the existing ATS sedan, the new coupe will also more conventionally resemble its four-door counterpart than the CTS, whose coupe version was distinguished by a rakishly sloping roofline.
Expect the same choice of engines to carry over, with a 2.5-liter four serving as the base engine, and both a 2.0-liter turbo four and a 3.6-liter V6 offering more power for those looking for that extra bit of oomph. Following the Detroit reveal, sources anticipate the ATS coupe to go on sale next summer.

2014 Cadillac XTS Vsport

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

Not long after bombing around the Milford Road Course in the new CTS Vsport, Cadillac invited me to try out its other new-for-2014 Vsport model: the XTS. And despite using the same twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 from the CTS, the Vsport package takes on a whole new meaning here in Cadillac's softer flagship.
In the CTS, this trim perfectly bridges the gap between the standard models and the hardcore CTS-V, and is focused on being the best-driving version of the range without a standalone V badge. The XTS, however, has no proper V model, so the Vsport becomes the new range-topper for that line by default. But unlike the CTS Vsport, which uses rear-wheel-drive architecture and is focused on driving dynamics above all, the XTS is geared toward a much different customer.
The entire XTS experience is far more concerned with plush comfort than handling prowess, and while this Vsport model certainly ups the ante with more power and some mild suspension and steering tweaks, it's not exactly what we'd call a particularly engaging experience. But that doesn't mean it isn't good.
