You are bidding on a 2011 Cadillac Escalade Platinum edition. I lave included a picture of the original window sticker. I have ordered a new car and the starting price is the least I will take or I will trade the Cadillac in on the new car I am purchasing.I am not interested in  a trade!! I am the original buyer and have put less than 8800 miles in the 29 months I have owned this escalade. It is in excelent condtion with not scraches on the wheels or paint. This is only driven on a limited basis by myself and is garage keep and still smells new. The only thing I have added are the OEM all weather mats & chrome exhaust tip and had the front windows tinted. The factory warranty is still in effect  till 48 months or 50,000 miles (Feb.10,2011 start date) and maintenance is included (oil changes ect.). Please ask any questions prior to bidding, this is a no-reserve auction. Payment is by wire transfer only unless you live in the Houston area. This has a clear title and has never been in a wreck or had any thing done to it outside the Factory when it was built by cadillac. This is an oustanding deal for a like new Escalde with still quite a bit of Factory warranty for some peace of mind!! If this does not sell I will trade it in in 6-weeks when my new car will be in. Shipping and all arrangements are the responsibilty of the buyer, I will have the Escalade availabe for the transpoter when thay are ready for pick-up.

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")

Cadillac's de Nysschen won't budge on raised pricing

According to new Cadillac boss Johan de Nysschen, it will take between 10 and 15 years to elevate GM's top brand, which was once hailed as "The Standard Of The World," back to prominence in the minds of American customers. And to hear the executive talk of it, the brand is going to have to be willing to see sales falter in the near-term before they recover:
"Either you have to bring your volume aspirations into alignment with reality and accept that you will sell fewer cars... Or you have to drop the price and continue to transact at the prices where you were historically... I think the logical conclusion is that it's better to build off a very solid base in terms of [product] credibility, charge a fair price for the car and realize you have to wait until the volume comes."
In other words, sales will fall before they rise, and the brand has to be okay with that. Notice, too, that de Nysschen speaks of "a fair price" for Cadillac cars and utility vehicles. In this case, "fair" means more than many of the brand's traditional buyers are accustomed to, and roughly in line with the brands and machines Cadillac believes it is competing against. For instance, the newly enlarged 2014 CTS carries a suggested retail price that is over $6,000 higher than it was in 2013, and some trim levels boast an even higher price premium over the models they replace.
