'62 Fleetwood Sedan, Hotrod, Ratrod on 2040-cars
Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States
This is a 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood that is in great shape for its age. it had been in storage for a great number of years and it was revived with very little effort. i want to keep the car now that the interior is redone, but bills got to be paid. The car is around 98% COMPLETE. It is missing the rear tail light cover and a front pillar cover. other that that, it is there. look at the pictures. It looks even cooler in person. I have had the car for only a few months but i can honestly tell you it runs good. i drove it for a while in bumper to bumper traffic for over and hour moving only a couple hundred feet and it did not stall or overheat. the interior seats and headliner are brand new. the paint looks very decent and was probably done recently so I am going to buff it out to get the new car shine. Ac compressor kicks in but probably needs freon and a good run thru. the heater core is leaking so I bypassed it. If i end up keeping it, i will fix it, as it seams to be straight forward. all window motors work but not all the switches are responding. I will be going thru them and lube them to try to get them to work, but I can't guarantee it will work. the dash has some cracks but is alright. I imagine the paint on the metal parts of the dash are the original color. Gauges seem to be operational and even most of the interior light so i will try to change all the bulbs to make them work. turn signals and lights work as well as the back up lights. It rides like a cadillac... a boat that floats on air but needs rear shocks and maybe a couple of bushings. it is not a show quality car but can be there soon. Please call with any questions. PLEASE CALL with any questions. Ivan 575-650-2078. Send me a inspector. I want to answer any questions you have prior to your purchase. The car is over 50 years old and is sold as is with no warranties. i wish i can keep this car as it makes me feel like a pimp. Non refundable deposit is expected 48 hours after the end of the auction. Shipping is up to Buyer, but i can work with you or shipping company. I have even delivered in the past if we come to an agreement. CALL ME... 575-650-2078

Cadillac CT6 ushers in new naming convention
Wed, 24 Sep 2014Johan de Nysschen has been at his new post as president of Cadillac for not even three months , but he's already seen two of his most notable accomplishments from his two-year tenure as president of Infiniti matched by Cadillac. The brand has announced that it is relocating its headquarters, and is now officially changing its nomenclature.
The brand's new flagship model will abandon the familiar three-letter designation enjoyed by every other model in the range (aside from the Escalade), and adopt an alpha-numeric title. So, rather than the expected title of LTS, Cadillac's top-end car will be called the CT6.
Of course, this won't be limited to just one model. According to Cadillac's press release, "familiar lettering like 'CT' would be used for car models, with the number indicating the relative size and position of the cars in the hierarchy of Cadillac models." And yes, that means what you think it means - Cadillac will use the exact same naming formula, albeit with different letters, as Infiniti.
Dodge Dart falls short of Consumer Reports Recommended, Caddy XTS and Lincoln MKS, too
Thu, 22 Nov 2012The Dodge Dart, Cadillac XTS and Lincoln MKS all failed to earn a "Recommended" rating from Consumer Reports. When it came to the compact Dart, the organization's testers thought the vehicle offered a quiet cabin, solid-feeling chassis and nimble suspension, but the new model ultimately fell short of the coveted rating due to powertrain issues. The institute's reviewers found the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to be underpowered and noted "drivability issues" when the available turbocharged 1.4-liter four was paired with the optional dual-clutch transmission (some of our editors disliked it paired with the six-speed manual). CR also dinged the latter powerplant for sounding "raspy." For what it's worth, we think the forced-induction engine offers an excellent and playful exhaust note, but that's just us.
As for the XTS, CR lauded the car for its luxurious cabin, but the vehicle's experience was dulled by its finicky CUE infotainment interface. Overall, the big Cadillac scored much higher than its cross-town rival from Lincoln. While testers found the American luxury sedan to offer a quiet ride and quality fit and finish, they felt the MKS delivered a "cramped driving position, ungainly handling, uncomposed ride, and limited visibility." Ouch. At the end of the day, both cars fell short of rivals from Japan, Germany and Korea. Check out the full press release below with more details, along with CR's musings on the Chevrolet Spark and Lexus ES.
Cadillac HQ has a New York address
Sun, 16 Nov 2014The new home of Cadillac will be in the 330 Hudson building in New York City's Hudson Square, putting the luxury marque smack dab in the middle of three of the city's hippest areas, SoHo, Greenwich Village and Tribeca.
The announcement is yet another milestone in the company's controversial decision to relocate administrative and marketing operations away from Detroit and into the Big Apple.
"The addition of a headquarters office in New York is a key step in Cadillac's ongoing global expansion," Cadillac boss Johan de Nysschen said, according to The Detroit Free Press. "There is no better atmosphere in which to better immerse ourselves into luxury consumer and brand expertise."
