1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado Convertible W/500cid V-8 New Tires & Vinyl Top! on 2040-cars

For sale here is a show quality 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado Convertible with just over 71,000 original miles. This Eldorado was purchased new at a dealer located in North Carolina, and the owner held onto it for more than 30 years! I bought it from a Florida resident 3 years ago, and have stored it during the winter months here in Michigan. Since I've owned the car, it has only been driven in the best of weather, and has been garage kept otherwise. I've put a lot of time and effort into making this classic stand out in a crowd. I have a collection of papers and documentation including the factory window sticker, owner's manual, and receipts going all the way back to the first owner.

The car is in beautiful condition, and is ready to drive. The matching number 500cid V-8 engine purrs like a kitten through a dual exhaust system that I had installed. The carburetor has recently been rebuilt, and I've added many new mechanical items including: Front axles, ball joints, and American Classic wide white wall tires.

Overall this classic Cadillac is truly gorgeous. The car has been repainted in the factory color (Brentwood Brown Metallic), and that remains in great condition. I had a local artist add subtle pinstripes in gold to set off the body lines. Included is a new fiberglass parade boot painted to match the body color that can be seen in the photos. The hood ornament is a 1939 Cadillac piece, and the original is also included. The vinyl top and the rubber inserts on the rear bumper were replaced last year too! All the sheet metal is straight, damage, and rust free.

The interior is just as nice as the exterior. The steering wheel has been replaced, as has both of the dashboard covers. The stereo and speakers have all been upgraded, and I still have the factory deck that is included. There is a custom center console that I had made which houses some of the new speakers and adds functional cup holders.

Bid to own this stunning Cadillac as my reserve price is very fair. I've invested more time and money than I could possibly recoup from this auction. What that means for you is a great deal while this lasts...don't miss out on this opportunity!

Is this the 2014-15 Cadillac Escalade?

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Following the introduction of the redesigned Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, we're expecting General Motors won't wait too much longer to show off the next-generation fullsize SUVs that share this platform - including the Cadillac Escalade. It's still not clear if the next Escalade will debut for the 2014 or 2015 model years, but Carscoops has what it claims to an exclusive first look of the new Cadillac, revealing a portion of the headlight, front fascia and wheel.
Judging from this small picture, it looks like the Escalade could incorporate styling cues that we've seen on new Cadillac models like the ELR and the 2014 CTS, but that article says that other design details could include tall, vertical taillights similar to the CTS Wagon, staggered-width wheels and a narrower daylight opening for the side windows. The last time we saw the fourth-generation 'Slade back in October in spy shots, the heavy camouflage prevented us from getting an idea of the luxury SUV's appearance, but this image and description gives us something to look forward to. Head on over to Carscoops for more potential information as well as a full rendering from back in January.

Combative de Nysschen defends Cadillac move, naming change

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

Johan de Nysschen isn't afraid of taking quick, decisive actions, even if they are criticized. Since taking the wheel at Cadillac, he instigated moving the luxury division's base of operations to Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood and introduced a new naming scheme for the future of the brand, like he did at Infiniti. The polarizing boss recently explained his feelings about the future of Cadillac in more depth on his Facebook page, but unfortunately only his friends could read it. Thankfully, Daily Kanban posted much of the strongly worded missive for the whole world to see.
Much of the message examines the decision to move some employees to New York. De Nysschen claims that it's all about giving Cadillac distance from Detroit to reshape itself. It allows for, "No distractions. No side shows. No cross-brand corporate considerations. No homogenized lowest common denominator approach. Just pure, unadulterated, CLASS."

Cadillac considering more electric cars, Elmiraj business case gaining popularity

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

Cadillac's electrification isn't likely to stop at the $76,000 ELR coupe, according a report from TheDetroitBureau.com. Speaking to Cadillac's global sales boss, Bob Ferguson, a successful ELR will likely lead to a larger, even more upscale offering than the Volt-based two-door. "I could certainly see a larger vehicle, something even more luxurious," Ferguson said of a potential second, battery-powered Caddy.
That car would likely boast a more potent version of the Voltec powertrain that motivates the Volt and ELR. This next-generation system is still sometime off, though, and won't likely arrive until the second-generation Volt hits the market.
Besides hinting at future plug-in hybrids, Ferguson spoke to TDB about the improving business case for the Elmiraj Concept, shown at the Pebble Beach Concours in Monterey in August. "I'm very excited about the reception for the Elmiraj," Ferguson said. "I'd like to see it in showrooms as soon as possible," he added, before saying that a business case for the production version of the big coupe still needed to be presented to the brass. "It was made to be operationalized," Ferguson added, which is just what we want to hear when it comes to big, flashy concept cars.
