Rare Opportunity............................LOW RESERVE

Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer possibly the nicest 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Available anywhere! 1966 was the one of THE most opulent Cadillacs ever built. Notice the plush leather seating, wood on the doors, and the only year to have the twin tray tables fitted to the rear seating area... Simply Magnificent!!!
We purchased this one right out of the second, long term owner's garage a few months ago in New Jersey. He cherished it for 28 wonderful years, driving it a scant 4,000 miles since he acquired it from the original elderly owners. He tells me that he owned a tire and repair shop, and that two elderly sisters purchased this Gorgeous Caddy new in 1966. They affectionately named her "Cleo"!

As he did all of the service during their ownership, they became great friends over the next 19 years, and in 1985, when one of them passed, the surviving sister insisted that he continue their love affair with Cleo, and become the next loving owner, which he was for 28 years, until he and his wife decided to head for warmer climates. Sadly, their was no room for Cleo. She is now available for her next long term love affair....could it be you??????

When Cleo arrived in Export, Pa. at International Motorcars, she was in fine, original condition. She was always garaged and babied, but seldom used(4,000 miles in 28 years). Looking her over, she had had some routine maintenance done over the last 28 years, such as recent exhaust and shocks, but needed some tender love and care to bring her back into the mainstream of life!!!

The first things on the list were a noisy water pump, and a seized up, original A/C Compressor. As I disassembled the front of the engine, I noticed a fair amount of corrosion on the seams of the radiator.......time to replace or recore? I also decided while I was there to do belts and hoses. Might as well do plugs and wires too!! As we all know, one thing leads to another!!! A close friend suggested that I mask her up a bit, and give the engine a fresh coat of Cadillac Blue paint. Good idea I thought!! As there were only 4 bolts that held the Carb on, I decided to remove it. As there were only 8 bolts that held the intake manifold on, I removed it also. Only 3 bolts and the valley pan was off, and I also removed the valve covers. Much easier to have all the pieces sandblasted before painting, and install fresh gaskets too! The engine was amazingly clean inside, and it was surely apparent that Cleo had been very well maintained over her 47 years!!

Upon reassembly, I did most of the vacuum hoses, and heater hoses too. All AC Delco parts were used when available, including belts, hoses, plugs and wires. A fresh Stant thermostat and radiator cap were fitted, along with a brand new water pump, and radiator. New fuel filter, air filter, and of course a fresh oil and filter change with Brad Penn 30W that has Zinc in it! The A/C Comprseeor was replaced with a rebuilt, along with a new receiver/drier, and converted to R134. I did not have the Rochester Quadrajet rebuilt(and I should have!).
She does have a bit of a stumbly idle, which should go away with a rebuild. Cleo now starts right up, and runs like a dream. I also had the air cleaner powder coated, and did some light touch up to the rad support, and inner fenders with chassis black. I think it looks great, but not overdone!

This is an ORIGINAL, unrestored survivor Fleetwood with 34,900 actual miles that spent the last 28 years in a garage. Most of the paint is the original lacquer from 47 years ago. I believe that only the trunk lid was painted some time way back, but am not 100% sure. There are some nicks and blemishes, along with a small ding down low on the left rear quarter panel that is pictured below. I did not do ANY touch up, just a good buff and polish. The panels fit very well, and the gaps are all nice and straight. The doors still close with that "Thud" that we all know and love. I think she looks Fantastic! All of the original chrome is just Beautiful, with basically ZERO pits!!! Amazing!! There are a few on the center grille bar, a few on top of the front parking lights, a few on the small uprights on both cornering lights, and some on the vent window frames that you only notice when they are OPEN. These are VERY MINOR....you really have to look closely to even know that they are there!! There is some bubbling under the vinyl roof, on both sides at the rear. I decided to let the next owner decide what to do here. The Bridgestone radial tires are 28 years old, I am told. They look good, and ride good. Replacement is suggested before long term, high speed driving is attempted.

The original Black Leather interior is just Gorgeous. It is totally original, with no dying done anywhere! You will notice in the many detailed photos below that the drivers door wood has some minor wear. I left this alone also, for originality, and for fear of not being able to match the finish. Options abound, with very few missing(heated front seats, power trunk, and front headrests, I think). Everything works just as it should, including the AM FM Stereo, and the Automatic climate control. The cruise control is inop, along with the power right rear vent window. The other three vent windows do work, but need a shove to close. All four main windows work fine, along with the power door locks and seat. We have the original owners manual, but no warranty book or Protect-o-Plate. One set of original GM keys with number punches not punched!

Unrestored survivor cars such as this are quite desired. Anyone can take a rusty old car, and do a no expense spared restoration, but as the saying goes......They are original only once!!!!!

Take a look at the 100 plus photographs below and see the actual pristine condition of this One of A Kind Fleetwood Brougham.

By bidding you agree to all terms set forth below.

Many Thanks for Your Interest!

GM's Reuss explains why Cadillac is heading to New York

Tue, 23 Sep 2014

"We're going to take it to a place [New York] to change the way that we do business around the brand of Cadillac." - Mark Reuss
General Motors product chief Mark Reuss elaborated Tuesday on Cadillac's move to New York in 2015, saying it will "elevate" the brand and allow it to reach new customers.

GM recalls Chevy Impala, Cadillac XTS for braking problem

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Back in April, General Motors launched an investigation into braking issues affecting the 2014 Chevy Impala. Now there's a recall of both the Impala and the Cadillac XTS with which it shares its Epsilon II platform.
The issue apparently revolves around the electronic parking brake, which may not properly disengage. As a result, the rear brake pads could rub the rotor even while the vehicle is in motion, causing "significant heat, smoke and sparks." The earlier investigation had been launched following a complaint regarding the forward collision avoidance system, which is now either appears to have been unrelated or possibly a symptom of this larger issue.
The recall affects 2013-15 XTS models manufactured between February 14, 2012, and August 22, 2014, as well as 2014-15 Impalas manufactured between January 15, 2013, and August 22, 2014. The total number of affected vehicles reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration comes to precisely 132,921 units, while The Detroit News reports a higher total of 205,000 units - the difference potentially coming down to the scope within the US and more broadly across North America. Dealers will contact owners to update the software in order to fix the problem.

Cadillac shows 2015 Escalade interior

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Following the reveal of the new GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, the next in line is Cadillac, which is set to unveil the new Escalade on October 7 in New York. And in the lead-up to the reveal, the company has released this third teaser image, giving us a good glimpse of the 'Slade's interior.
Or part of the interior, we should say, because while the image above clearly shows the new dashboard and center console, as well as parts of the front seats and interior door panels, the Escalade is most certainly not a two-seat coupe. The outgoing Escalade can accommodate up to eight in either standard or ESV form (but not in EXT pickup configuration), and the new model promises to deliver the same, and we're curious to see what Cadillac has in store for the rear passenger compartment.
Compared to its more accessible counterparts, the new Escalade clearly offers a more upscale environment than even the uplevel Yukon Denali, with softer-looking leather, richer wood veneer and a waterfall center infotainment console that's different from the more modular design in the Chevy and GMC. The steering wheel is also unique and the instrument cluster appears to meld more smoothly across the dashboard, but the door mirrors, wide center armrest, column shifter and A-pillar grab handle all look like they were carried over from the Escalade's platform mates.
