Inspection good until April of 2015.

Let me just start off by saying if I needed this car, I would not even consider selling it. It sits and is driven 2-3 times a month. It never let me sit and made multiple tripes to Chicago and back without even a hiccup.

The car's check engine light came on about a month ago, I never bothered checking it because it runs solid. It has 270,000 miles. I purchased it when it had about 240,000 miles.

Parts I changed in the past 18 months.

- clutch
- rear brake caliper
- struts
- battery
- starter
- sway bar bushings
- brake pads

The car definitely shows age. It has a rust spot on the driver sides quarter panel as well as fading paint. All cosmetic it never bothered me because it was only a second car. It has a really ugly radio but it works and has auxiliary which also never bothered me. The moonroof works as well as the cruise control, air conditioning, and heat. It also comes with a Yakima 2 bike trunk rack. Power windows work except for the drivers side passenger which I believe just needs a motor. The tires have plenty of tread as well as the brake pads. Oil was changed about 2,000 miles ago.

This is a great commuter car or someone learning to drive 5 speed. If I had plans on using this long term I wouldn't even think twice about putting a few hundred into it to make it solid.

I'm looking for $1,500 which I believe is fair. Kelly blue book with my mileage and fair condition is giving the car around $2,500 which is a little extreme. The motor in this thing seems as it will never die, people are always surprised when I tell them the mileage on the odometer.

Shoot me an e-mail or a text with questions or to arrange a time to check it out. Title in hand.

2015 Cadillac Escalade blings its way into LA

    Thu, 21 Nov 2013

The new Cadillac Escalade sauntered out onto the Los Angeles Auto Show stage, showing off its new familial face and redesigned interior. That exterior, with its slim, wrap-over headlights and tall, vertical taillights (both made up of LEDs) is a subtle but significant departure from the past styling of General Motors' flagship SUV.
And while there's no shortage of stuff to discuss about the Caddy's exterior, its cabin is where the big changes happen. Aside from the column-mounted shifter, the cabin receives a heavy going-over, receiving Cadillac's new CUE infotainment system and a significant upgrade to the materials. Comparing it to furniture, Eric Clough, Cadillac's director of design for interiors, said, "An exceptional level of craftsmanship has gone into the redesign of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, and it all centers on the premium materials and extensive use of cut-and-sew live stitching."
Under hood sits a 420-horsepower, 460-pound-foot, 6.2-liter V8. Fitted with direct injection and active fuel management, fuel economy for the big Escalade should get a much-needed boost beyond the current model's 14-city and 18-highway miles per gallon, although official numbers haven't been published quite yet. A six-speed automatic is the sole gearbox choice. Cadillac has also fitted the new Escalade with GM's magnetic ride control system, which should deliver a more refined ride than its predecessor.

2014 Cadillac ELR wears a suave suit with Volt underpants

    Tue, 15 Jan 2013

The Cadillac design and engineering teams were smiling like a bunch of proud papas here in Detroit this morning, as the Wreath and Crest crew pulled the curtain back on their 2014 ELR. The house was packed for the ELR's coming out party, and reaction was enthusiastic amongst the murmuring media, as far as we could gather, while the flashes were firing.
In fact, we think that the sleek styling and aggressive proportions of the Voltec-powered ELR looked even better in the metal than they did in the first official images we saw earlier. Further, the leather-lined interior seems custom made for serious driving, even if the ELR is slightly less than rocket-ship quick.
The new Cadillac makes good use of the basic running gear from the Chevrolet Volt, including the 1.4-liter range-extending gas engine, a 15.6-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and an electric drive motor that offers 295 pound-feet of torque, and a total system output of 207 horsepower. All-electric range is down by just one mile versus its Chevrolet forebearer, for a total of 35, and Cadillac speculates that the total range with the gasoline generator figured in will top 300 miles.

    Cadillac shows dealers convertible rendering

    Tue, 28 Oct 2014

Cadillac is getting serious about revitalizing and expanding its lineup, and to that end, a new report claims that brand boss Johan de Nysschen has been showing plans for several new models to the marque's dealer body - among them, a new convertible.
The droptop which Cadillac reportedly showed its dealers in sketch form, would be based on the same platform as the ATS and CTS, those it's unclear to which (if either) of those model lines the new convertible would be added, or whether the design features a canvas or folding hardtop roof. One way or another, it would be the first time Cadillac would offer a convertible since the Corvette-based XLR roadster was discontinued more than five years ago.
Quoting an unnamed brand spokesperson, Cadillac would "like to introduce an open car to the portfolio at some point," however, "it's not likely to be one of the near-term portfolio additions."
