Avalanche 2500, 3/4 Ton. 4 Wheel Drive. Excellent Condition. Leather+sunroof on 2040-cars
Northfield, New Jersey, United States
AVALANCHE 2500 4WD, 8.1
2 Owner truck. I purchased it from a friend in 2004 with 4,000 miles and have been the sole driver since then. NON SMOKER VEHICLE. Never smoked in or had a smoker in it. OPTIONS: LEATHER DUAL ELECTRIC FRONT SEATS WITH HEAT SIDE AIR BAGS BOSE STEREO WITH FACTORY SUB-WOOFER MOON-ROOF REAR SEAT DVD WITH WIRELESS HEADSETS DUAL DIGITAL HVAC ADJUSTABLE ROOF RACK 410 GEARS WITH HD TRANS HD REAR WITH LEAF SPRINGS HYDRAULIC POWER BRAKES (3/4 TON) 8.1 BIG BLOCK (roughly equivalent to 496) ELECTRIC TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER The 2500 only came as a 4 wheel drive with the 8.1 big block. The tow rating is in excess of 12,000 LBS when equipped this way. It is a true 3/4 ton truck with a heavier frame, leaf springs instead of coils, hydraulic power brakes rather than vacuum etc. I have only used it as daily transportation and occasional towing under 7,000 lbs. No boat ramps. The truck was kept in a heated garage. The body, paint and interior all in excellent condition. All options work as designed. (couple small door dings and a very thin scratch on the tailgate) I have never had any breakdowns or problems with this truck. As it is a 3/4 ton and I wasn't beating it, everything lasts that much longer. I am selling only because I have a new truck coming and really can't justify 2. (although I would love to keep the avalanche also if I had more garage space) The truck is located in zip 08225. Near Atlantic City NJ. (No I'm not in a flood area. The avalanche has never been anywhere near the beach or salt) Please feel free to contact me for more detail or running video. If you do want to trade something please send some pics, description and price. Extra new bottom front seat cover is included with the truck. I replaced the old one along with the cushions and heater about 6 months back. I ordered a spare at that time. (fits left or right). The dark grey is a 2500 specific color. I may consider trades of 60s-70s muscle cars. Trade up or down. I'm not looking for any major projects but paint and minor things could be ok if the car is worth it. I will also consider early buy offers. (Camaro, Trans Am, Chevelle, GTO, 442 etc.) Please feel free to contact me for any more detailed info or to arrange inspection. |

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles
Fri, 04 Jan 2013As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.
