1955 Bel Air Convertible - Rare Continental Kit With Skirts - This Bel Air Convertible has been in a barn for many years. Has it's 265 2 barrel V8 with a manual 3 speed on the column. The Bel Air will start up and run and it moves and the brakes work too, but you will need to go through it from sitting.

The Bel Air is Two Tone Red and White, it has very old paint and looks to be in fair shape, it still has the dirt on the Bel Air from sitting in the barn, never cleaned it but I think if you give it a good wash, buff and wax job it wouldn't look to bad. The body looks fairly straight, has some chips and scratches and some small bubbles and like I said old paint.

The Bel Air X frame doesn't look to bad, it is scally in places on the frame and some of the frame supports may need to be replaced or fixed. Some of the floors are scally and rusty with holes, it looks like many years ago they did do some patch work on some of the floors. To make the Bel Air right, you will need to replace some of the floors or patch them and some of the frame braces and supports too, or you can still drive it the way it is now, your choice. Inside the trunk the floor doesn't look to bad. You can see all this in the detailed pictures.

The Bel Air interior is Two Tone Red and White and is in pretty fair shape for it's age, still has the original radio and clock and the rest of the interior looks pretty original. If you cleaned it up it would look pretty good for a old age interior. The White Top doesn't look to bad, it just needs a good cleaning, I have the Red Convertible boot that comes with the car too. It does have a power top and the power top motor works but I never tried to put the top down.

The chrome and stainless is in pretty fair shape, the front bumper will need to be Rechromed because the chrome is peeling off.

This old 1955 Bel Air Convertible Barn Find is Pretty complete and it runs and has the very Rare Continental Kit With Skirts. Extremely popular collectible to fix up.

I have a clean Title in Hand.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....

Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
