1955 Chevrolet 2 Door Post Hot Rod - 355 V-8 - 4-speed - Drives Like New! on 2040-cars
Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, United States
1955 CHEVROLET 210 HOT ROD Here is an absolutely beautiful 1955 Chevy Hot Rod. This car has gone through an extensive restoration that included replacement of every bushing and seal under the car to make it drive and handle better than new. The power plant of this Chevy consists of a very strong 350 V-8 that has been bored .30 over. The Borg Warner 4-Speed manual transmission shifts in and out of all the gears smoothly while providing the strength and stability to run the car hard if you choose. The added rear stabilizer bars help the traction and stability of this '55 tremendously, and the front disc brakes make it stop properly. The interior is flawless with new leather done in a tuck-and-roll style that really looks sharp! Front seat belts were installed for safety. A modern digital am/fm stereo has been installed into the dash for clear music without cutting out the dashboard. New Sunpro white faced gauges will keep you updated on the temp, oil pressure and volts as you drive. The original steering column has been replaced with an IDIDIT column with tilt, and a very comfortable 3-spoke Grant steering wheel has been installed. Chrome 5-spoke American Racing wheels with new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires finish off that hot rod look. Fronts are P235/60/R15 while the rears are P255/60/R15 to give an aggressive stance. All the chrome on this car is excellent, as well as the body work. All original steel with absolutely no signs of rust anywhere to be found. Highly professional paint finished in the correct Shoreline Beige / Gypsy Red 2 tone. This is a car that you can truly buy with confidence. There are no hidden surprises anywhere. Just a great car. Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.
GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups
Mon, 14 Oct 2013General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
