Up For Auction 1955 Bel-Air custom 4 door wagon.

The car was assembled in Atlanta Georgia. My wifes parents bought the car in 1960 at Rancho Chevrolet in Reseda Calif.
She received the car in 1967 for graduation. The wagon stayed stock until 1991 when we decided to start restoring it.
The resto was completed in Aug 1993.
The wagon now resides in Prescott Az.

This was a frame on resto. The body and interior was stripped to bare metal. The front floor pans were replaced. I then covered the floors with 6oz fiberglass cloth to keep any future water off the metal.
The body and roof were amazingly straight and required little blocking.
The paint is 1989 Chevrolet Artic White with blue added for that extra snow blind white.
Paint and body was done at Johnnie's Mini's and customs in Canyon Country Ca.
The interior is a 4" biscutt using a 1998 Toyota grey waffle weave.
A tonnue covers the cargo area.

This engine was installed in 1999, is a 327 bored .10 over with a what I call an RV cam. putting out 300 H/P.
A 350 turbo with a stage one shift kit sends the power to the stock rear end.
A 625 Carter AFB ( aluminum four barrel) is bolted to a Wiend Intake.
Mallery Unilite distributer.
Mattson crossflow aluminum radiator with Spal electric fan. (mech. fan  also on water pump)  With the electric fan running the car stays at 170-180 degree's. Two pints of Redline Water Wetter keeps it COOL.

The wagon still has the original steering. It was rebuilt and steers and handles beautifully.
Power disc/drum brakes stop the wagon.

When we restored the car, A/C kits were not on the market, so I never installed one.

Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires are mounted on Crager S/S 15x8 rims.

There is 123,900 original miles on the car with aproxamenttaly 15,000 since the restore.

If your looking for a cool family hot rod, or the coolest soccer mom car, this is it.

Has a clear Az. title.
Car and title will be released when funds clear my bank. Buyer responsible for transportation.
Cashiers check from a national bank or wire transfer.

CAR SOLD AS IS WHERE IS NO WARRENTEE APPLIED OR GIVEN.

Wagon is listed locally and other web sites. can end auction any time.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
