1955 Chevy Nomad Belair on 2040-cars

I am listing a 1955 Chevy Nomad Belair for friends. It has a non matching # 350 ci engine, with a small but noticeable cam, headers, edelbrock intake, and Holley carb. It is mated up to a turbo 350 transmission. New exhaust from front to rear. These cars are very rare. It's painted in Prowler Red, @ 5 years old. It is showing a couple of rust bubbles in the lower rockers on both sides, about the size of a pencil eraser. They are small enough, and down on the bottom, so they will not show up in the pics. The rear glass has very tasteful etching, which is old school. The front end is rebuilt, and all new. Shocks, springs, tie rods, upper and lower control arms. Been converted to front power disc brakes, and under-dash cold a/c. The bumpers and bright works are very good. All the glass looks good and windows roll up and down like they should. All wiring, gauges, lights work like they should. Floors are solid with some of the floor braces/body mounts have rust in them. They are solid, but do show rust. The interior is new. Seat covers, headliner, carpet and door panels. New 225/70R15 Grand Am white outlined tires, on new Rocket wheels, compliment the car. In the rear cargo area, where the spare tire goes, has a fiberglass mold, that looks good. It has a working aftermarket cruise control as well. I am listing this car for some friends, and it is not mine. They have a clear title in hand for the lucky new owners. Please no spammers or texts. They don't need help selling the car, so please don't ask either. If you have questions and are interested in buying, please send me a message. I have described this car as good as I can. Thanks Tom

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
