Custom 1955 chevrolet handyman wagon, not a nomad. This car was built for Audiobahn to display their stereo equipment at shows including the SEMA Show. The body on build is about ten years old according to a magazine that I have that the car is in. Black leather custom interior that showcases the two 18" subs and 3 amps in the back. The body is near perfect with even gaps and paint that looks like glass.

The 350 crate motor runs great and is equipped with a new Holley carb. The 350 turbo shifts firm and there's no noise from the rear end.

Some of the things added include power rack and pinion, power disc brakes, power windows, polished alternator, polished air conditioner compressor, mini starter and aluminum radiator.

The car looks great, sits just right on the Colorado Customs 18" rims and rides very smooth going down the road. Colorado Customs also built a steering wheel to match the rims.

I'll be glad to discuss the car by phone or message on here. Feel free to have the car inspected.

Shipping autos is no big deal I've shipped 5 cars and trucks with no problems. I strongly suggest enclosed transport because the car is that nice.

The wagon was appraised by our insurance adjuster for $40,000.00 and that's what it is insured for.

The car is a dream to drive and it shows well. Stop about anywhere and you'll draw a crowd. Our wagon is being sold as is with no warranty. The car stays in my garage until all funds clear my bank unless you are paying cash. Great car to keep for an investment. It's a rust free beauty, just check the pictures  and see the quality that went into the build.

Ebay requires what type of title the car has. Alabama does NOT have titles for vehicles manufactured before 1975. The car comes with present registration and a notarized bill of sale only.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506

Thu, 02 May 2013

With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
