I PURCHASED IT FROM A OLDER GENTLEMAN WITH HOPES OF KEEPING IT FOREVER BUT TIMES ARE HARD SO SHES GOTTA GO!
THE CAR REALLY RUNS GREAT THE 6 CYLINDER WAS REBUILT AND HAD LOW MILES BEFORE IT WAS STORED INDOORS FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS. WHEN I BOUGHT IT I REPLACED THE BRAKES INCLUDING MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE HOSES AND ADDED NEW MUFFLER AND EXHAUST.
I DRIVE THIS CAR BACK AND FORTH TO WORK ABOUT A 5 MILE DRIVE EACH WAY THE BRAKES ARE GOOD, STEERING IS A LITTLE WARN AS MANY OLD CARS ARE! BUT IT FIRES RIGHT UP EVERY TIME WITH A SPLIT SECOND TURN OF THE KEY AND THE CHOKE EVEN WORKS!
THE FLOORS LOOK EXTREMELY CLEAN NO SIGNS OF RUST AND THE TRUNK IS SOLID AS WELL!
INTERIOR IS NICE I ADDED NEW CARPET AND HAD THE SEATS RECOVERED AT A LOCAL SHOP
THE SPEEDOMETER, RADIO, OR CLOCK DOES NOT WORK , WIPERS ARE SLOW AND STICKY

THE PAINT IS OLD AND REAL THICK MOST LIKELY A LACQUER REPAINT! THERE ARE MANY CHIPS AND THE PAINT IS FADED IN SOME AREAS OF THE RED  SHE  APPEARS TO HAVE BONDO IN SOME ARES SUCH AS THE  LOWER FRONT SECTION OF THE RT QUARTER  PANEL UNDER THE PASSENGER DOOR I CAN SEE WHERE THE PAINT HAS BEGUN TO FADE. THE DRIP RAILS PUTTY HAS BEGUN TO CRACK AND RUST BROWN SPOTTING APPEARS IN CRACKED AREAS (CHECK PICS)
THE IS NO RUST/BUBBLING OR WROUGHT SHOWING THROUGH  ANY PANELS JUST SOME SURFACE WHEREVER THE PAINT HAS CHIPPED
ALL TRIM IS COMPLETE SOME WOULD NEED STRAIGHTENING  TO BE PERFECT. BUMPERS ARE COMPLETE COULD USE NEW BRACKETS (MISSING ON FRONT AND BENT)

THIS CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND IS AS IS SALE! PLEASE SEND SOMEONE TO INSPECT. REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A BRAND NEW CAR THIS IS A 1956 CHEVY AND FOR 57 YEARS OLD YOU WOULD BE SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR AS WELL ANY QUESTIONS I CAN BE REACHED AT 415-424-3535

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."
