For sale is out 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 dr post. This is a real bel-air not just a 150 or 210 with bel air trim. This car has been a solid New Mexico car as far as we know since we bought it in Albuquerque and before that it was from Belen, NM. This car has been gone through but has not been off the frame. Originally it was a 6 cylinder car with a power glide but that motor and transmission was gone before we got it. Currently it has a rebuilt 350 C.I. V8 and TH350 automatic. Odometer says 21000 but like i said this is not correct as engine is rebuilt. This car is extremely clean and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. The undercarriage is very clean and rust free. I cant say enough about this car as everything works and has been rebuilt just ready for something new. I also included photos of it with the after market chrome wheels but those are gone and now it comes with original wheels, hubcaps and wide whites. Here is a list of items been done.
Rebuilt 350 V8
Th350 auto (small leak on front seal, just being honest)
Correct column linkage
All new painless wiring throughout entire car
All gauges work
Super clean and high quality 2 tone upholstery
Vintage Air A/C, Heat ice cold and super hot
New Aluminum Radiator
New brakes and master cylinder
American classic white walls (nice tread)
All trim has been replaced
New glass and felts
New Carpet
Seat belts installed
Flowmaster dual exhaust
detailed engine compartment
Really nice black paint (possibly minor chips from driving, but still very close to show)
All chrome replaced
Retro sound radio (looks like original)
Quartz movement clock
LED tail lights
New gas tank and sending unit
Super clean under carriage
Rain gear wiper motor
I am sure I am missing something so if you are serious please email me a phone number and we can talk. Car is located in NM and buyer is responsible for all costs with shipping or pickup. Inspections are welcome. I may be able to store for a short period or drop off in Albuquerque for shipment once all funds have cleared. Serious bidders only. All funds must clear via certified check or cash before title will be released. $250 deposit is due at end of auction and remainder of funds within 1 week unless other arrangements are made. Reserve is very low (high teens to low 20's). Please bid to win. This is still being sold as is because of its age but I am sure you will be pleased as 2 door post Bel airs are getting hard to find! Clear title. Good luck

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.
GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
