1957 Chevrolet Belair
This awesome restoration was done in Florida then brought to Ohio. It is a frame off restoration and a good one. No way of knowing what was done to bottom of car but shows no sign of needing anything. All metal in bottom and trunk area is very nice. The dead on paint color was used. 1957 Tropical Turquoise, very very eye pleasing. All the glass looks to be new, very clear, no fogging, crack or chips. Looks to have slight tint. The complete interior has been redone. New seat covers done to factory original, New headliner. New Carpet. New Package tray in rear window. New trunk mat. It comes with the very hard to find factory bumper jack. Comes with factory spinner hubcaps, tissues dispenser. All the stainless is present and in nice conditon. A lot of the trim looks to be new-like all the side aluminum. All the V's are bright gold. Everything seems to work on car. Horn, lights, gas gauge, temperature gauge, windshield wipers all work. Heather fan works. Factory clock does not seem to be working. The radio is some after market crap. This original type car is screaming out for a radio that looks like it belongs here. Bumpers of course have been replated and look nice.
The previous owner wanted more than just a show car. He wanted to drive to shows and cruise ins so he got caught up in spending money. LOTS!!! He put on a new set of radial tires, then had a complete set of original type seat belts. He spent the extra money to eliminate the original power glide transmission. He added the later model turbo tranny-a nice upgrade. He also put in the correct shift indicator in the dash to match tranny. Then the BIG investment!- he had a shop in Cincinnati do a complete overhaul on the original 1957 power pack engine. Today we got under the car to verify this was a genuine 57 block. From the bottom we can see there are no holes in side of block for side motor mounts so we are satisfied the motor is what we were told it is. An original 57 power pack dual exhaust motor. While under the car we did detect on the driver side floor pan area there has been repair work then blacked out and not perfect but acceptable to most. This car is ready to enjoy as-is. Car has the correct original air cleaner, generator and looks very nice and original under the hood. If you wish to do the buy it now price i will have the have the local shipper here in town put the car in your driveway at no cost to you. do the Buy it Now price shipping will be included in the price. call 812-537-0585 for questions.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
