Here for bids is a very restorable 1959 belair four door sedan. It will need a new floor pan and rocker panels, the trunk floor is pretty good and the body mounts are good, frame is very good, the doors dont sag they shut solid. the windsheild is cracked, the rest of the glass is good. The 235 6cyl. runs good, three speed shift on the column, the brakes work some, they will need to be bled. I bought this car last summer to restore, now i found out i have to pay a lot of taxes so i need to sell this car. I never had it on the road to drive since i live in town, but drove around the yard and the clutch works good, tail light wires will need repair i didnt get to them, Also i have the correct rims for this car with the nubs for the original style hub caps i have, the rims are sand blasted and ready for your paint. Has new radial tires. I have the original owners manual and i bought all the books and brochures for this car. This is the first time i put a car on ebay to sell so bare with me I will answer your questions. I can always email you more pictures. Car was originally from jamestown ND. the floor rusted from the inside out from the carpet nap probalby. Car was made in janesville WI. Thanks. GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

GM execs fired over fraudulent India emissions testing
Mon, 29 Jul 2013General Motors hadn't had a recall in India since 1995. That changed when it was discovered that certain employees were playing tricks with local emissions testing in order to ensure passing grades for engines. More than ten GM Powertrain employees in India and the US have been let go over the ensuing emissions flap, including Sam Winegarden, VP of global engine engineering, a man who has been with the company since 1969, leading development of some marquee powerplants.
According to Automotive News, an internal investigation revealed that employees "violated testing procedures," sometimes swapping specially prepared low-emissions engines during testing regimes for the Chevrolet Tavera SUV equipped with the 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter engines. Employees were also manipulating weights in order to get vehicles placed into different emissions categories. The discovery has led to GM recall the 114,000 Taveras produced over an eight-year period and halting their production and sale.
The Economic Times of India reports that the issue is due to "a faulty component." GM has developed a solution to the issue, and once it is validated in testing and approved by the Indian authorities, the recalled vehicles will be fixed at dealers and production will resume.
