Up for sale is my 1954 Chevy Belair. As strange as it sounds, the best words to describe this car is unmolested custom. It looks stock, but it is not. Just enough tweaks to make it clean and smoother than an original car, but not to the point of being obvious or obnoxious. The SBC (350 CI) and Camaro Rear End make a good paring for this car also. The seats have been recovered front and back, new headliner, and all new door and window crank handles. Steel dash, gages, and face plates are in very good condition. The inside of this car is very nice and except for the radio and Hurst shifter it is stock. All the windows go up and down as they should. The seats move forward and back. The trunk is solid and has no holes. Although the engine only has a two barrel carb, the dual exhaust has a nice mellow sound to it. The body is straight and so is the stainless steel trim. The chrome is in nice shape. The glass is the original glass and is in good shape. It has P215-65R 15" tires. The rear bumper was welded and re-chromed as one piece. Last but not least is the front suspension. It is the original setup. I don't mean it still has the original parts and it is falling off, but rather that it has never been converted to something better and newer. It has no power steering so it takes effort to turn. This car will have to be trailed or towed because the brakes do not work. Payment of $500 is due at the end of the auction and the balance is due in 7 days. Cashiers check or cash is accepted. Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette
Mon, 07 Oct 2013How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. It also, as Pattie says, seems like her boyfriend is more excited about the car than she (which, can we blame him?). Take a look down below for the full video of this C7 Stingray delivery.
PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place.
