This is a one owner vehicle belonging to my dad. His health is failing causing us to sell most of his stuff. He bought it in 2000 with 190 miles on it. Now it only has 112,500 miles on it. He didn't drive it much. I drove it about 50 miles back to my place and it drove great. The brakes are good, it shifts good, and handles good. The interior looks brand new. The exterior looks good other than fading and discoloration of the black plastic trimming which I took pics of. There are a couple small scratches aswell. This vehicle has never been in an accident. I did notice a couple flaws with the vehicle. The tilt latch for the front seat is broke. U can lift the seat up so people can get in the back seats but u need to use something to tilt it back. The gas gauge sin't accurate. I was told u can get 300 miles on a full tank. My dad said he'd fill up when it got to 200 miles on the trip meter. It costs about 45 bucks to fill it up. It has a small tank. It is a v-6 vorTech. Very strong motor. It's never pulled a anything. It also makes a whinning noise when going slow. It only does it when accelerating under 40. It sounds like it's coming from around the front driver tire but I'm not 100% forsure. It doesn't effect how it drives because it drives very good and I know it'll take u across country. This is a no reserve auction with no extra fees. What ever the final bid is that's all u'll be paying but I will not take any less than the final bid so please don't show up expecting to get it for less. All test drives are to be done prior to auction ending. If you message me through ebay i'll give you my number so you can txt me to get my address.  Once the auction ends the sale is final and the only way to drive it is if it's paid for. I can pick up at bus station or air port at no extra charge.  I can also deliver within 200 miles for 1.20 a mile.  If you'd like it delivered the delivery fee must be paid up front so the trip can be paid in advance.  If you choose to have it delivered and decide you don't like it for what ever reason that's ok but the delivery fee will be non refundable.  I do not require a deposit and I only accept cash.  No checks or Money Orders.  Cash in Person!!!!  This is a very good vehicle, bid with confidence.

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
