You are bidding on a 1981 Chevy C10. It has the 250 4.1 Inline 6 engine. 4 speed manual with overdrive. The truck is very solid with spots of surface rust. The truck had a bed cap on it since it was bought new so the bed is in immaculate condition! Only a few minor scratches on the bed. The truck was originally bought by my great uncle and had been sitting for about the last 15 years in a barn. Runs great! I changed all of the fluids and have been driving it daily for the past couple months. Will need exhaust and front brake disks. Perfect truck for everyday drive or for restoration. Again, truck is very solid. Truck is just starting to rust at cab corners. There is surface rust on the truck in areas that have been painted over with barn paint (grandpa trying to stop the rust). Under 62,000 original miles! The inside of the cab needs some love. Dash is badly worn and cracked, door panels were removed (dont know why) but still have them, floor carpet was removed. Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.
Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?
Thu, 21 Feb 2013When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
