This is a 1966 Chevrolet C10 short wheel base stepside pickup truck with a 454 engine mated to a 350 3 speed automatic transmission. The drivetrain works, but will need some attention during the restoration of this truck for optimum performance and power. This truck has sat for awhile. I put a slow charge on the battery a couple of days ago. Battery is charged. It has a Griffin aluminum radiator, Holley double pump carburetor, HEI, Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake, headers, great frame, a 12 bolt rearend, and dual Flowmaster exhausts(sounds like thunder). I started it up yesterday, drove it out of my driveway, and up the street for about 2 miles to make sure she would still move and stop. The lights work. The choke on the Holley acts up a bit at start up. I recommend towing the truck because I can't say that it can be trusted to make a long trip. I'll drive it, but I would not let my wife take off in it without a trip to the shop for a thorough evaluation. As previously stated I only drove it for 2 miles. The coolant level is fine, the water pump is working fine, and the brakes are working good. This truck needs a complete restoration. The rockers, hood, and bed all have some rust. The hood has been patched in the past with some metal and sheetmetal screws. Please see the photo of the passenger side of the hood. It will require expert fabrication or a new one. The driver's door has had a dent pulled out in the past. The windshield is cracked. There is good wood inside the bed, but it isn't correct for this truck. This 1966 Chevrolet has a great set of white letter tires mounted on rally wheels, a good frame, frame to body mounts, and a solid roof or top. Please see the photos for confirmation. I could only post 24. If you need more please let me know. Please ask any questions that you may have prior to bidding. I will give honest answers to help you make a good decision. Please only bid if you are sure that you can finish the transaction. I am located about 15 minutes north of downtown Atlanta,GA right off of I-85 in Duluth,GA 30096. I will assist you or your transport service with loading at pickup. The winning bidder will receive free and clear title, registration, and a notarized bill of sale. Thank you for your consideration.

Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
