!966 Chevrolet factory 4X4 step side, short bed, frame off restoration.  Everything on this truck has been through a no expense spared restoration to a very high quality.  This truck is mostly original with a few custom touches.  I grew up in Colorado and I had the truck done the way a wealthy rancher might have done it back in 1966.  I think it is fair to say that no part of this truck was untouched during the restoration process and factory orinial parts where used wherever possible unless I purposely went with custom modifications.  The truck has the rebuilt 327 V8 with a 4V and a rebuilt transfer case and new clutch and 4 speed transmission.  There is way too much new or rebuilt on this truck to list everything but I'm offering the truck for close to half of what I spent if that gives you an idea of the extent of the work done.  It has power steering and power brakes and A/C and even the extremely rare under the dash ash tray option.  It would be an ideal show truck or you can drive anywhere.  I always thought it would make a great tow truck for your custom, show or race car and it is equipped with the heavy duty Harrison radiator and a tow package which could be reomved if you wanted.  Everything on the trucks works and functions like it should-even the cigarette lighter and the am radio.  Whenever I drive this truck, everyone has to wave and give the "thumbs up" and  tell me their story-it definately gets attention.  I've never actively shown the truck but it was taken to a Good Guys Regional show and the first time out it won a prize.  It's also been on the cover of the LMC truck catalouge.  I'm not interested in trades unless you have a 1964 Corvette in original condition.  Serious buyers only and $2,500.00 down payment required within 24 hours of auction close.  I will be happy to answer any questions.  Good luck and happy bidding.

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")

Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
