1967 Chevy C10 Long Bed

I am selling my truck that we just completed. It has maybe 200 miles on it from a complete rebuild. The engine is a 327 with a mild cam in it and is very strong. The trans is the TH400 with a shift kit, can break the tires lose going into second gear. The exhaust is new from the headers back with 2 chamber Flowmasters that dump before the rear wheels. It sounds great. The truck has been converted to 5 lug all the way around AND has Power disc brakes on ALL 4. The tires are new and mounted on astro type wheels with 4.75" adapters as the lug pattern is 5 on 5. It has been dropped 3" in front and 5" in the rear with CPP drop springs. The truck has a brand new power steering system installed, not a used one.

I had the truck painted in a satin white with 1 ounce of fine per added per gallon. The top is painted in A firemist satin gold with pearl. The truck looks great when the sun hits it just right and all the pearl sparkles. The interior is all new with new carpet, dash pad and seats. The seats are covered with a yellow and black hounds tooth. They are soft and comfy. We put in 3 new lap seat belts also. The heater works fine but there is no AC... The bed wood is all new and so are the polished strips. They are held in place with ALL polished bolts.

The truck gets more looks and thumbs up then you may be able to handle.

Logo on the doors are stickers..

I will be posting links to the truck running and driving also so check back.

GM execs fired over fraudulent India emissions testing

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

General Motors hadn't had a recall in India since 1995. That changed when it was discovered that certain employees were playing tricks with local emissions testing in order to ensure passing grades for engines. More than ten GM Powertrain employees in India and the US have been let go over the ensuing emissions flap, including Sam Winegarden, VP of global engine engineering, a man who has been with the company since 1969, leading development of some marquee powerplants.
According to Automotive News, an internal investigation revealed that employees "violated testing procedures," sometimes swapping specially prepared low-emissions engines during testing regimes for the Chevrolet Tavera SUV equipped with the 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter engines. Employees were also manipulating weights in order to get vehicles placed into different emissions categories. The discovery has led to GM recall the 114,000 Taveras produced over an eight-year period and halting their production and sale.
The Economic Times of India reports that the issue is due to "a faulty component." GM has developed a solution to the issue, and once it is validated in testing and approved by the Indian authorities, the recalled vehicles will be fixed at dealers and production will resume.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.

Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.
