WOOD IN BED IS VERY GOOD COND. THE OWNER WAS A BIG RIG DRIVER AS YOU CAN TELL FROM SOME OF THE FACTORY AND DEALER OPTIONS, LIKE THE ROOF MARKER LIGHTS AND SPOTLIGHT AND I DO HAVE THE ORIG. SMALL RV MIRRORS. THE MECHANICAL RESTORATION STARTED WITH PULLING THE FRONT CLIP. AND STRIPPING THE FRAME BACK TO THE FIREWALL.FRAME WAS CLEANED AND PAINTED, ALL NEW CPP, FRONT SUSPENSION WITH DROP SPRINGS AND DROP SPINDLES WAS ADDED WITH POWER DISC BRAKE CONVERSION AND LATER MODEL POWER STEERING. ALL THE REAR SUSPENSION WAS REMOVED , CLEANED AND POWDER COATED, WITH ALL NEW CPP BUSHINGS AND LOWERING SPRINGS. REAR END WAS REBUILT WITH NEW BEARINGS AND SEALS. THE MOTOR IS A 350 4 BOLT MAIN 30 OVER WITH FLAT TOP PISTONS, COMP CAMS THUMPER CAM AND LIFTER KIT. (NICE LITTLE RUMPY CAM). GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.

Fri, 25 Jan 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin.
