Great truck to restore. Shortbed, Big rear window. Good options. Original 350 V8 (Has been rebuilt). Original TH350 Auto trans. Power Steering, Power Brakes. Stock suspension.

Mechanically this truck is very good to excellent. New correct carb. Fires right up, idles very smooth. Good oil pressure and no smoke ever. It really runs good.

Power disc Brakes are great.

If you closed your eyes and did not look at the truck when driving it, you would think you were driving a restored truck. Quiet as it has New exhaust.

Straight and smooth down the road. All lights and electrical in good shape. All new light lens all the way around.

Body is fair. Rust in cab. You can see daylight where the floors meet the rocker panels, under the sill plate. Bottom of one front fender is rotted out Under battery).  Original wood bed short Bed. Large round dent on passenger side of bed.

Glass is all good except windshield has a crack on passenger side.

Speedo in-op.

Needs complete cosmetic restoration. Original Medium Green Metallic is underneath the flat black. Cab top was white. Parchment Interior (mostly wasted).

Needs tires due to age. Can be driven anywhere, yes long distance (there is a spare, remember tires are aged). Starts up every time. It will surprise you how well it runs.

I can hold for 30 days while transportation arrangements are made. Can be seen and driven in person just ask.

I have clear signed title from the previous owner, CA reg expired in May. I have driven it locally for approx 100 miles and am impressed how well it drives.

Basically a full cosmetic restoration is needed, rust repairs etc.. Or drive it as a Rat.

Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible is the track car for sun worshippers

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
