1985 Chevy K-10 C/k 1500 Swb 4wd Fleetside on 2040-cars

Year:1985 Mileage:113856
Location:

Oroville, California, United States

Oroville, California, United States

Up for sale is a 1985 Chevy Scottsdale charcoal gray with blue interior 4 wheel drive short bed.

This truck has spent most of its life in the dry Sacramento Valley near the town of Sutter, California

There is absoulutely no rust on this body anywhere. There are only a few minor dents that could be taken out by a dent doctor.

This truck was repainted several years ago and needs a re-paint. There is no rust on this truck. The bed floor is in good shape as is the factory rear bumper. There is a newer grille and headlight bezels. Both doors open and close like they should I had the strikers replaced. The plastic bushings on the strikers break off, and they don't close properly if not replaced. .

The dash is badly cracked from the California sun and the door panels are faded on the top. The temp gauge is not working and there is no radio. The quartz clock works well. The tilt steering column is nice and tight and the dome light works good. The seat has some tears in it. The power windows work, but are on the slow side. The factory vinyl floor is torn up on the driver's side.

The truck has factory GM Rally wheels with new center caps and trim rings. The tires are Goodyear Wranglers 31 11.50 15 and have about 50% tread remaining.

The truck has a 5.7 liter 350 that is very strong and runs great. It runs rich at idle and that should go away with a carb adjustment or remove all of the California emmission controls. The ac does not work. The power steering works good.  It has a 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission that shifts great. The choke seems to work fine as the engine starts up easy.

This is a great 4 wheel drive shortbed stepside.

.This is a hard to find California no rust truck. I was going to re-paint this truck, but I have another project that needs to be finished. Please email or call/text (email is best as I'n in a bad phone service area) 530-370-9200 if you have any questions. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will cooperate with your shipper to make it as easy as possible for them. $1,000 deposit due within 48 hours of auction close. Balance due within 7 days.

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. It also, as Pattie says, seems like her boyfriend is more excited about the car than she (which, can we blame him?). Take a look down below for the full video of this C7 Stingray delivery.
