                                      1972 Chevy C-10 / Custom

Very hard to find stock, unmolested Tangier Orange & Birch White  -  350 / 4bbl, manual trans, gauge package, factory AM/FM radio, deluxe seat, molded door panels and headliner

This truck has an interesting background.  It was a family heirloom that later became a father/son stock restoration project about 9 years ago. They did a 3/4 frame-off (except for the cab bare shell) full mechanical and cosmetic redo. The project took over 1-1/2 years of constant work and was almost completed when the father became suddenly ill and passed before it was completely finished. The son could not bear to complete their work or drive it anymore. Then it just sat…………………………………………………..until I rescued it.

I bought the truck with the sole agreement I would finish it properly. His hope is that someone will appreciate the time, effort and commitment that he and his dad put into it. Please know I love these trucks, have restored and owned so many I could tell you where, what type, and size of any fastener on any part. Here is the list of systems of what has been addressed collectively to date.

Body:  All parts were removed from the frame except for the cab bare shell. The cab mounts and rockers were replaced. The underside was hand-cleaned, treated with POR-15 then undercoated with Wurth professional coating.  The bed inside and top rails were sanded and sprayed with Rhino liner, then top coated with matching factory color. The inside of the bed floor and sides looks like it has never been used.  The underside was also POR-15’d and undercoated with Wurth. The truck was completely painted in the original factory color by the dad and son while it was apart before reassembly.

Engine  Rebuilt stock long block with Edelbrock Performer intake and Holley 650 with electric choke properly calibrated for this application. Dressed to look like a period correct Z-28 (optioned like it would have come that way)

Transmission  New flywheel, clutch assembly, pilot bearing, throw-out bearing, oil changed to synthetic, new u-joints

Exhaust   New complete aluminized factory style system with turbo mufflers

Cooling System  New water pump, radiator, heater core, all hoses and clamps, coolant, heater box case restored

Fuel System  New gas tank, seat insulator, sender, lines, pump and added inline fuel filter, rebuilt carburetor

Brakes  Rebuilt master cylinder, new rear brakes and wheel cylinders, flushed entire brake system; new fluid. The left rear drum still wears the GM factory sticker.

Wheels / Tires  The correct reconditioned 8” GM rally’s with new radial tires. New chrome lug nuts, wheel alignment. New Monroe heavy duty shocks.

Electrical  New alternator, battery, battery cables, headlights, front and all side marker lenses are new as well as most all the bulbs have been replaced

Interior  Steering wheel is new reproduction correct GM Z-15 optional wheel, new floor mat, new headliner, the window regulators and locks have been cleaned and lubricated, the original AM/FM radio works well

Bumpers  The front is re-chromed and the rear is new

I have had many of these trucks and this one is probably overall one of the cleanest, nicest driving stock examples I’ve had in some time. When driving the steering wheel is straight, no rattles or squeak’s, it shifts nice and the brake pedal is firm with very smooth stopping. Shown is an original GM Service manual, original dealers sales brochure and owners manual.

This color combo is also my favorite. It is nice enough to take to the local cruise-ins but could just use as weekend family truck. All it needs is new owner that can appreciate what has been done and enjoy it!

Bidders, bid with confidence!  Look at my rating - 100%. I have been a member here for many years. That didn’t happen by accident. I have that because I’m an honest guy and very easy to deal with. I have completed almost 400 transactions where some of the dollar amounts were very high.

International Bidders  I have sold and assisted with delivery of vehicles to countries outside of the US. There is an inland shipping port near me as well as a sea port @60 miles further. I am very experienced dealing with international buyers / shippers / delivery.

Questions   If you would rather ask / discuss by phone instead of email, contact me here and I will provide my number.

Transporting   If the winning bidder lives outside my area you could:

1) Rent a car and drive here then drive the truck back. There is an Enterprise car rental facility close by.

2) There is a major airport near me you could fly in and drive the truck home.

3) I have a great guy with a roll back who is very professional and courteous who can safely and reliably transport the truck to your home. His rates are competitive.

4) You send your own transport to pick it up. I will accommodate you with any of these as best as I can with my schedule.

Payment  $1500.00 deposit by PayPal due immediately after auctions end. The balance to be paid by wire transfer - or - cash at pick up. With PayPal fees going into outer-space, I started using bank wire transfers some time ago and found them to be easier, the fees are almost nothing and safer than PayPal. Anyone who wants to bid and is not familiar with bank wire transfers contact me first and I will explain in detail; it's easy as pie!

Reserve Price  Is very fair and under the current market. I am open to buy it now offers and reserve the right to end the auction early. Thanks!

Bidders with no or low feedback scores  Contact me first but know your bids will most likely be cancelled out.

ZERO  / LOW Feedback Bidders    Attention!  I just cancelled a bidder with zero feedback who did not respond to repeated emails. I just took a $1000 loss on the current bid. Again to show I am an honest in this process I do not do 'ghost' bidding to drive the auction up - OR - allow people to bid with no history and do not respond to polite emails requesting clarification. Sorry - Thanks!

2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video
