This is a 1965 Chevrolet custom truck that is on a 1979 Chevrolet 4x4 truck frame. This is the fancier model for the year and it is a custom. it has all the bells and whistles to it. This has a 305 high output engine in it combined with a 350 turbo transmission. It also has the good 205 transfer case in it as well. The motor has been rebuilt a few years ago and there is a stamp on the block to prove it. The transmission is also good. There was only 40,000 miles on this drive train before the rebuild. However I have removed the wiring harness in order to install the cab onto the frame so the truck will not start right now due to the lack of a wiring harness. that is an easy fix though and I can find a way to prove this truck runs if you purchase it. now to the body. This truck has the common rust issues but is in much better shape than most of them out there! needs new floor pans. also needs new rockers and the rear quarter of the front fenders (see pictures). the bed is rust free! just needs new wood. you can even re use the strips in the bed. there is a small crease on the top part of the bed on the passenger side but can be fixed easily. I have not mounted the bed to the frame yet as you can see it sits lower than the cab. I was going to wait til I got the wood put in it to mount it. Was the C7 Corvette cut from Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show?
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Someone was bound to receive a free 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray during the Super Bowl XLVII festivities; it just wasn't who we thought it was going to be. Despite a report back in December that superstar Beyoncé Knowles would be getting an all-new Corvette during her halftime performance, that turned out not to be the case. Joe Flacco, starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, did in fact win a Corvette for his MVP performance.
So what transpired that prevented Beyoncé from rolling on stage in the new Chevrolet? Anyone who knows isn't telling, but according to Yahoo! Autos, General Motors said that for one reason or another a deal "did not work out," and it appears to have been an eleventh-hour change. Regardless of who's to blame or what prevented this from happening, we're sure Chevy has had no problems getting attention for the C7 Corvette since it was introduced last month.

As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.
UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
