I hate to see this truck go, but I just bought an '08 and don't have room for it in my shed. This truck was a locally purchased truck new and has been in the same family since then. Last year it was sold outside the family to a friend of the family and he took it to Colorado last summer to pick up a camper. It comes with a very nice camper fifth wheel hitch that bolts in the box. I bought it from him to get me by until I got my new truck. I fell in love with it and am not crazy about selling it, but I don't want to see it just sitting outside. This would make a great Harley hauler. It has the old school look. It even has a few Harley stickers on it now... They look good. All things aside, this truck turns heads. It isn't because of the shiny paint...(its not too shiny anymore) It's because it is a classic Chevy truck that doesn't have a small block gas engine. It has that awesome diesel sound, with nice dual exhaust, and the classic two tone paint job that so many Americans are familiar with. This truck is not a rust bucket...yes it does have rust, but nothing that can't be fixed. It would make a great restoration project. It comes with two complete rust free doors! The engine was upgraded from the 6.2 to a crate 6.5 about 60,000 miles ago! This was a major expense as you can imagine. I also have the paperwork for the newly rebuilt 700R4 overdrive auto tranny. The truck has a good radio, power windows that work like new, power locks, steering, brakes, etc. It also has a tilt column! Cruise all hooked up but I think has a vacuum leak. The air conditioning works great and blows cold! (good luck finding a truck like this for this price, that has working air!). I have lots of receipts for recent brakes etc. The box floor is perfect. It is galvenized and is NOT beat up at all. The front box panel is great, and the tailgate is like new other than paint. The frame is very strong. The truck rides down the road like a Cadillac....REALLY! I've owned many Caddy's and this truck rides and handles awesome! The engine and tranny obviously work flawlessly. I can't say enough about how reliable this thing is. I am selling it with two brand new studded snow Blizzek's! It also comes with 4 excellent Goodyears. I took a close up of the tread. You will be amazed with this truck as soon as you start it up with a flip of the switch and cruise down the road. Please call me if you have any questions. 319-231-8974, Thanks so much for listening to me ramble. Please call. This truck will NOT disappoint you. Justin

2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment
Thu, 07 Nov 2013That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
