Here's  an 87 Chevy short bed truck that you can have some fun with.

This truck currently has an Indiana title but has been in Georgia for most of its life. It has NO rust anywhere!! This truck features the following: Small block V8, Almost new Mickey Thompson tires, 6 lug axles, working 4 wheel drive. Automatic transmission, 5th wheel ball mounted in bed, towing bar out back. Has power windows & locks, dual fuel tanks that work. Features dual exhaust & what looks like fairly new shocks. Recent work has also been done to the steering gear to take out some slop.
Sound too good to be true? Here's the negatives. AC doesn't work, Fuel gauge doesn't work, body has dents in several locations probably due to some off road use. Small crack in frame rail on Rt side near engine. (can be easily welded up).  cloth headliner is gone along with a couple of trim pieces. Finally, it has a few squeaks and rattles.
Truck starts right up, gets on down the road, and the stereo works. What more could you want.
Truck can be seen in Goshen, Indiana. Please email with any questions or if you want to check it out.
Down payment of $500.00  via pay pal  due within 48 hrs of auction end. Balance due at or before pick up of the pickup :)  Final payment by cash or Cashiers/bank check. If full payment is made I can be flexible about when you get it. (up to 30 days) The truck will be parked in my driveway. Full payment must be made within 15 days. How you take delivery is up to you  If you use a transport company, I will drive it to a large parking lot for easy loading. Buyer is responsible for all transport costs.

GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):
