1986 Chevy 3/4 Ton 2wd Custom Deluxe on 2040-cars
Oroville, California, United States
Up for bidding is a 1986 3/4 ton 2wd. (BILL OF SALE ONLY as it would take over $1000 to obtain a CA title) I brought this one home to use as a parts truck, but its rust free and it runs and drives. I think it can make a good work truck. It was previously used as a glass company truck and has some holes in the side of the bed for the glass rack. This year has the rare hydraulic clutch with the 4 speed and the clutch and SM465 4 speed transmission work great. This also has the heavy duty federal emissions with no required cats, dual exhaust, factory cast iron headers, and a carburetor without the problematic electric feedback. The 5.7 engine is cold blooded to start, but runs good when warmed up. I think it could use a tune up and possibly the carb cleaned. I'm not sure if I would drive this across country as I have not run this truck for a long duration of time. There are the usual dings and some surface rust at the bottom of the fenders. I could NOT find any rot on this one. The seat has wear on driver side and the dash is cracked. Buyer responsible for shipping and I will cooperate with your shipper to make it as easy as possible for delivery. Please do not bid if you have a zero feedback history without contacting me first. I will not release the truck until your funds have cleared. Paypal for the deposit and cash or cashiers check for the balance. If you have any questions, please call or text me at 530-370-9200...text is best as my phone service area is bad. (Bill of sale only) Thanks, Ray |

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs
Sun, 01 Dec 2013
The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel destined for Chicago debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013It's been a little over a year and a half since General Motors first confirmed plans to offer a diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze here in the United States, and we've now learned that the oil-burning compact will debut under the lights of the Chicago Auto Show in February. According to GM Authority, the Cruze Eco-D will be introduced as part of the entire 2014 model year Cruze range, set to go on sale in the second quarter of this year.
Earlier reports have indicated that the diesel Cruze will be able to achieve fuel economy numbers in the range of 50 miles per gallon. For comparison, the similarly sized Volkswagen Jetta TDI is rated at 30/42 mpg city/highway, but as we found out in our long-term test of the 2011 model, hitting 50 mpg was a piece of cake.
Official specifications will be released at the time of the 2014 Cruze's unveiling, though reports have stated that the sedan will be powered by a reworked version of the 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-four found in the Holden Cruze CDX overseas. In that application, the four-pot oil-burner produces 160 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque - increases of 20 hp and 29 lb-ft over the 2.0-liter engine used in VW's Jetta TDI.
GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups
Mon, 14 Oct 2013General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
