1993 Chevrolet C2500 Pickup Truck on 2040-cars
South Bend, Indiana, United States
93 C2500 with 1 ton suspension. 454 engine. I have owned this truck for 2 years and have only driven it about 1100 miles. I have put in a new battery, new idler pulley, new belt tensioner and new serpentine belt. Front tires have about 85% tread left on them. The rear tires have about 1000 miles on them. I have replaced the AC compressor and accumulator. I replaced the valve cover gaskets. I have replaced the air cleaner and fuel filter. It has no tailgate. I have the hardware for the tailgate. I made a tailgate out of wood that slides in and out. It has a full size spare tire with good tread on it. The truck drives and runs good. I have replaced the exhaust manifolds and the y pipe and also a new oxygen sensor. I have replaced the spark plugs. It has a Reese hitch and an electric trailer brake control. It is an automatic with OD. It has a sliding rear window. It has intermittent wipers. The only rust on it is the drivers side rocker panel. The only issues with it are that once in a while it takes a long time to shift from 1st to 2nd gear before it is warmed up. It has been this way since I have had it and it never got any worse. Also the brakes pull to the left. It probably needs rotors and calipers and pads. It was also like that when I got it and never got worse. Once in a while the fan motor will not run but comes on within minutes. Seat on drivers side has a patch on it. The truck has 172020 miles on it. I drove this truck 180 miles on 7/15/14 with 3000lbs of topsoil in it with no issues. About 90 miles was on the interstate. This truck will haul 3 tons. I can show you the weigh tickets. It is used daily to haul materials so mileage will probably go up. Has no leaks. I have clear title in hand. Sell to lower 48 states only. No refunds after sale. Thank you for looking.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
