For sale is a 1998 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 with a regular cab. This truck has 122k, a 5.7 v8 engine and is automatic. Three of the tires are brand new LT Yokohama Geolanders, and in the past four years this truck received a new engine (Jasper i believe) and had its transmission rebuilt. Fuel lines are newly run nylon, and most of the brake lines have also been replaced. New fuel pump and filter in the spring, new distributor, cap, rotor, wires and plugs in the summer. Rear diff cover just changed along with the diff fluid, and rear brake lines. Working spare tire and emergency tools are recently restored. All four brakes (including front rotors) done in the past 6 months. She has some small quirks. The speedometer needs to warm up and then works perfectly. The exhaust is a little raspy, we think the exhaust manifold has a slight crack. The battery is a new interstate battery (6 months old), but its a little small for the truck CCA-wise. She started today (20F out) with no issues however. The passenger's door doesn't lock with the key, but it does lock. Driver's door works fine. Clock resets itself every drive. There is normal rust for a truck of this vintage. She isn't perfect, but we have put a lot of love into her since i bought her in the spring. I bought this truck to use as our shop truck (I am a master mechanic and shop owner), but it turns out that she is a little more truck than we need. I'd like to sell her and buy something smaller thats 2wd. We just don't need such a serious truck. Hopefully you do. |

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.
Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty
Tue, 05 Mar 2013We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.
