Up for bid is a beautiful black 1978 Chevy Silverado K30 4x4 Flatbed. It's powered by a healthy 454 bored .10 over with a turbo 400 automatic trans. The transmission and engine were rebuilt at the same time several years ago. It has a dana 60 in the front and a dana 70 in the rear. It has the np208 part time transfer case. Last winter I put a full tune up on the motor (all A/C delco parts). This truck runs and drives out great. It has dual tanks that work as they should,both plumbed to the drives side. The fuel gauge quit working last week tho, I think its a grounding issue. It comes with the mounts and wiring for a western unimount plow. The plow was wired with the correct western harness for the truck (plow and controller not included). The tires where all replaced within the last year. The previous owner before me owned this beast for 23 years. The body was reworked about 15 years ago. The cab corners and rockers are starting to show and the driver floor board could use a little work. This truck is extremely dependable, it started up with no issues last winter when it was below zero. All brake lines an fuel lines are in great shape. The truck does have a 3'' homemade lift on it. Fri, 08 Feb 2013There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette
Mon, 04 Feb 2013If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
