Up for sale is my 1967 BBC RS Camaro. Just like most of the sellers on here - this camaro has been a labor of love for me. This is an original RS car with air conditioning. I have included in the pics the cowl tag. This Camaro runs and drives excellent. I am only looking to sell as a pure financial dedcision. This car gets very little road time. I have only driven it not even 300 miles in the last 2 years. This past fall I pulled the sbc 350 out of the car to replace it with a period correct 396 BBC.

Engine - 1967 396 BBC (engine code pic) - bored .30 over, 1.7 roller rockers, oval port heads, 1 3/4 long tube headers, flowmaster series super 10 mufflers, full 3 inch tubing, total MSD ignition with rev limiter, coil, race distributor, wires. Cam - I am unsure of the duration. I have installed an electric vacum pump for the brake booster as the enging does not produce enough vacum - due to the size of the cam. 4 core aluminum radiator with a 3300 cfm puller electric fan and a 1200cfm pusher electric fan (on the front side of the radiator). Alternator - 200 amp hugger orange with correct wiring and fuse. battery - Red top Optima. I do not have a dyno sheet on this set up.

Tranny - 4-speed Muncie, clutch is brand new - was installed during the engine swap last fall.

Suspension - Hotchkis 3 inch drop leaf springs and front coils. All front suspension components are within 1 1/2 years new - again not even 300 miles in the last 2 years.

Wheels - American racing Polished Torq Thrust II's - front - 16 X 7, rear 17X7 -Tires - Front - 205 45 ZR16 - Rear - 275 40 ZR17. These tires have over 90% of the tread remaining.

Rear End - 10 bolt - non posi

Brakes - Disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.

Exterior - White with a black nose stripe. The paint is in very condition as you can see in the pics. This is a car that you can get in and take straight to your local car shows. It's not a trailer queen and was not intended for that. There is one are that will need minor repair. The rear passenger quarter panel has an impact area from when the mono leaf spring center pin broke after the 396 install. At which point I purchased and installed the Hotchkis suspension to eliminate wheel hop. I have had the minor impact area looked at and the repair will be less than $500. I have brand new 396 fender emblems that will need to be installed. i will also include the original 327 emblems if you would like them. Brand new LED rear tail lights as seen in the pics, new front turn signal lenses with one new housing.

Interior - The interior is in excellent condition. All black interior - bucket seats (standard interior - not deluxe)Seats, console, carpet, headliner, dash are all in excellent condition. Absolutely no cracks at all in the dash, seats, panels, ect...

Items that need to be completed : Headlight doors - they need to be opened manually. The motors are new but the wiring harness needs to be replaced. I was going to convert to electric. However I will include with the purchase a brand new wiring harness for you. Windshield Wiper Motor - I had to remove the working motor as the valve covers would not clear. You will need to purchase a mini wiper motor. they have them all over ebay. I did not immediately replace as this car does not leave the garage in the rain. Other items that have already been spoken about in this listing include the minor repair on the passenger side rear Qtr and the installation of the 396 emblems.

Gauges - all gauges work with thye exception of the gas gauge. There is a 3 pack of gauges mounted right where the factor 3 pack would have been placed. in addition there is a tach mounted on the steering column.

I have the right to close this auction at any item as the vehicle is also for sale locally. Please no tire kickers and low ballers. I am not desperate to sell and am looking for a buyer who will take care of this very powerful, grat driving, beautiful icon of a Camaro. I have tried my best to include as much info as possible. the original owners manual is still in the gloce compartment and in great shape.

If you have questions you can either call or text me at 352-638-5210. Thanks for looking.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.

GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
