1969 Chevrolet Camaro Custom on 2040-cars
Larkspur, California, United States
Car was taken down to bare metal to start the restoration process. The 307 was pulled and bored out .20 over. Mild
cam. Intake manifold ported and polished. Originally a factory A/C car, the original a/c unit replaced with more
modern unit when the pulley system was changed over to a serpentine belt drive. Original transmission pulled and
rebuilt. Factory Disc Brake car ( still has that little " disc brakes " metal badge on the brake pedal. All new
brakes, brake components. Mild modifications so that this car will stand out in a sea of hugger orange Camaros with
induction hoods. This was and still is a California car. Car is registered with nice pair of original black
California plates, NOT the new black plates that everyone gets.
Modest body mods include relocating front side markers, lowered and swapped out to 1968 style markers. Front bumper
horns that silhouette license plate were trimmed off and rechromed, rear bumper also sleeker without bumper guards.
Rear brake lights were replaced with nice Marquez Design Digi Tails and lenses smoked. Rear spoiler nicely blended
in to deck lid. Nice Interior with orange stitching to tie in the outside to inside. Other lines and seams welded
and smoothed out, they didn't just pack it in with bondo.

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]
Mon, 27 May 2013If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.
Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech
Tue, 24 Dec 2013The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.
