1970 Camaro SS Tribute

Up for auction is my 1970 Camaro SS Tribute. I received this car in restored condition, however it was painted black. I had the entire car disassembled, blasted, and painted to near original color. NOTE: There is NO rust anywhere, nor has there been any panels replaced or repaired. I added the SS stripes, cowl induction hood, and rear spoiler. Car sits on brand new Cooper radials, new brakes and runs like a brand new car. The fresh engine has 2278 miles on it, however I did not build it, so not sure of what it has inside but it runs strong with a mild cam, victor jr intake and headers flowing into dual exhaust.

The car is as straight as can be with no dings, dents or bondo repairs. The floor are all original, and the car started it's life in California, and was just purchased last year from the third owner. It's been in climate controlled environment since. If you are looking for an original sheet metal car with no bondo or filler panels then this is the one.

This Camaro is not perfect nor a trailer queen, but rather was built to drive, and it goes no where without turning heads, and getting compliments.

Recently installed during restoration is a new

Fresh 350 CID
Racing radiator with dual electric fans
New Seals
New lights
Guages
Brake Booster
Brakes
Tires,
Paint
Spoiler
GM Cowl Hood ( I may still have original available)
New Interior
Alpine Stereo System, Kenwood Sub Amp, Speakers, Alpine Amp
Undercoating
Dual Exhaust
Engine dress up kit
Tinted Windows
New Hurst 4 speed shifter

No expense was spared in this restoration, and it shows. Buy it now price doesn't come close to what I have in it, but my loss is your gain. It's priced for sale based on current comparable prices and for what it's appraised and insured for. Its only going up in value.

This is a true hard to find gem, and if you have been looking for a Generation 2 Camaro the price is going up everyday, and the good ones are getting harder to find. If you found an original number matching SS in this condition you would be writing a big check, instead enjoy this tribute for a fraction of the price. This is a factory 4 speed car and shifts perfect.

I plan to sell this car so all reasonable offers will be considered, however don't waste either of our time making silly offers, cause I don't need to sell it.

My feedback speaks for itself, so feel confident in buying from me. I make no warranties, or guarantees on this vehicle and the above description does not imply any. The Camaro is sold as is, where is and shipping or pick up will be the responsibility of the buyer. I will assist and help any shipper with meeting them for vehicle pick up, and the car is located in a commercial building for easier pick up.

If you have any questions please ask, and thanks for looking

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
