1970 Camaro RS Z28

Non-matching numbers.

Rust Free!  It originally was a RS Camaro with the R22 (split-bumper) option. The restoration cloned the Camaro into an Z28. The very sleek second-generation split bumper Camaro, introduced in February 1970, was built only as a coupe. The sizzling-hot 1970 Z28 packed a 350-cid / 360hp solid-lifter V-8, while the RS appearance upgrade now featured a split front bumper. This car has had a beautiful restoration with nothing left out.  Total restoration completed 2 years ago. All new sheet metal, interior, suspension, weather stripping, brake lines, fuel lines, wiring harness, brakes. The correct 350 small block was bored .030 and fitted with new pistons all balanced and blue printed. Solid lift Crane cam and lifters. Heads all reworked with hardened exhaust seats installed so it will run on today's unleaded fuel.  Electronic ignition so you never have to adjust points or timing again. A new 12 bolt posi with 3.73 gears and SBC 5 Speed Hurst shifter. The Muncie 4 speed was replaced by the second owner with a TREMEC TKO600 5 speed from American Powertrain including their hydraulic clutch system. For a rock steady ride, he also installed a complete HOTCHKIS TVS2 suspension including sway bars, front and rear springs, shocks, front end steering and a quick ratio power steering box. Car has headers and dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers.  Refurbished 8,000 redline tach and 150mph speedometer (very rare items).  Restoration was done at 63,000 on the original speedometer. Myself, (third owner) recently had the carburetor totally rebuilt with new plugs and wires. Only non-ethanol 93 octane gas burned in this Camaro! If you want a nicely done restoration that you can show or routinely drive around town, you will love this one! Its a blast to drive....all MUSCLE!!! A real head turner everywhere you go. Reason for selling??? Kid going to college. ):

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
