This rust free original body panel camaro has been restored to a pro touring level car. It has an LS style 5.3 engine with LS1 intake and throttle body, lowered, 12:1 quick ratio power steering box, aluminum radiator with computer controlled electric fan, 2002 Trans Am power leather bucket seats with the rear seat covered to match, custom gauges and gauge panel, steering wheel and am-fm-cd radio, new 18" chrome boss wheels on directional tires. The floor pans and trunk pan are original, clean and rust free. It has new dual exhaust dropping out behind rear tires out of sight, new gas tank with the fuel injection pump internal. The body is straight with very few paint blemishes, not show, but nice. Fiberglass cowl induction hood with low gloss platinum stripe the length of the car outlined in a hand painted sassy green pinstripe. Has front and rear spoilers, a new windshield, late model camaro fender emblems. The car is tight, the doors shut great, and it runs and drives great pulling down 20 plus mpg. The firewall has been smoothed as we had intended to put vintage air on it, but other projects are calling. It needs nothing and can be driven every day I'd you wish. Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.
Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.
