1999 Camaro SS SLP #3340. This is a turnkey street muscle car. It has not been run on the track. Everything I've done has been done the right way. Joe Gibbs oil and Red Line tranny fluid. Roughly 5,600+ miles on a Texas Speed and Performance 408ci cast iron LQ9 and brand new level 5 RPM transmission with Quick Time bell housing. Spohn solid motor mounts. Forged internals. Wiseco pistons and Lunati crank and rods. ARP top and bottom end bolts. Summit Racing harmonic balancer. It's built for 900+ HP. Big Comp Cam. Top end is PRC LS3 heads ported with 1.7:1 rockers. Titanium keepers, double spring and hollow stainless valves. Chroemoly push rods. Comp Cams trunion kit. LS3 intake manifold and Texas Speed billet TB. Deka 60 LB injectors. Nick Williams 92mm throttle body, Big Mouth air lid, Granatelli MAF, and K&N. EGR & air pump delete. Mike Norris Motorsports PCV catch can. All new tensioners and drive belts. Founders double adjustable 3 link, torque arm, weld in sub frame connectors, and strut tower brace. Pacesetter long tubes. Texas Speed off road Y-pipe with open cats. Single SLP exhaust past the cats that split into two coming out of the muffler. All Strange Dana S60, 35 spline, 3.73 rear-end, and drive shaft. BMR 3 hole LCA brackets. Full alignment and pinion angle recently done. Pro 5.0 shifter. New Centerforce clutch, pilot bearing, and drill modded GM throw out. Tick adjustable master cylinder. This car is in great shape. It has been garage kept and under cover most of its life. I have the original window sticker and SLP sticker. Inside is 9.5 out of 10. Seats show some normal wear. Both window regulators replaced. Original T-top shades. New front Camaro SS SLP floor mats. SLP SS grille insert. Drilled and slotted rotors. American Racing Torque Thrust rims. 275/40/17 Nitto 555 fronts and 5K miles on 315/35/17 rear Nitto 555 radials. New AC compressor, dryer, and orifice tube. I have dyno sheet. Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia
Sun, 03 Feb 2013It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]
Thu, 07 Feb 2013For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product.
