This is a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS edition with T-tops and the 5.7 liter V8 LS1 corvette motor and 6 speed manual transmission. The car is in great condition with low miles for its age. I bought it approximately 5 years ago from a good friend of mine who owned it for about 3 years. I believe there was one previous owner, not absolutely sure. As long as I have owned it I have never driven it in the snow and it got no road salt on it, the chassis looks good with minor rust. The vehicle has a full length SLP exhaust with BBK headers (installed 3 years ago). I also installed a cold air intake. Transmission is in great shape, I just had the clutch replaced last year, and it shifts tight. The vehicle was lowered prior to me buying it and it has a racing suspension installed, unsure of brand, but it hugs the road. Drives like a muscle car and sounds like it too. There is a dump valve on the exhaust which I leave closed. The switch for the valve is in the ash tray. Upgraded sound system with Pioneer head unit and MDX amp with subwoofer built into the side of the trunk. The t-top holders are not interfered with in the trunk by the sound system. The exterior paint is in great shape. No dents or scratches. The t-top seal is tight and has never leaked for me which is unheard of with these cars. Pirelli tires on the chrome SS rims look sharp. White HID headlights with standard halogen fog lights. The interior is in great shape with some minor wear on the driver seat, no rips or tears. I just don't have the time to take care of this car anymore and would like to see it go to someone who will take care of it. Car was just professionally detailed and comes with the car cover. Feel free to ask any questions.

Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes

Tue, 28 Aug 2012

Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.

Pushing Back: GM expanding Chevrolet into Korea, Daewoo out

Chevrolet Camaro goes to South Korea - Click above for high-res image
General Motors decided several years ago to begin heavily promoting Chevrolet as its global mainstream brand even in markets where its existing brands like Opel and Daewoo were a dominant force. Today, at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, GM Daewoo president Mike Arcamone announced that the Camaro would lead the way in GM's efforts to market Chevrolet in South Korea.
For now at least Chevrolet and Daewoo-branded vehicles will coexist in the Korean market. However, while we were in China last week GM officials told us that the Daewoo brand, which has been somewhat tainted by past quality issues, would eventually be phased out in favor of Chevrolet. When the new Aveo launches next year it will likely be badged as a Chevrolet even though GM Daewoo is in charge of engineering the car.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra debut all-new designs, three new engines

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

General Motors has finally dropped the curtain on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. Both trucks have undergone substantial revisions with updated versions of the company's 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 engines. In a shot across the bows of both Ford and Chrysler, GM says it won't use a V6 engine adapted from passenger car applications. Instead, it developed the 4.3-liter engine based on its proven truck-duty architecture.
All three mills will boast direct injection fuel systems as well as a new cylinder head design. Combined with a revised piston, the new engines feature a smaller combustion chamber with a compression ratio of 11:1 or higher depending on the application. Cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing are all part of the recipe, and each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with auto grade breaking. So far, no fuel economy or horsepower figures have been released, though GM says the new engines will best their predecessors in both areas.
Outside, the trucks feature a number of enhancements to reduce drag and wind noise, and GM claims both the Silverado and Sierra will offer buyers some of the quietest cabins in the class. Extended cab models now feature front-hinged rear doors to allow easier access to the back passenger area, and Crew Cab buyers can now select between a five-foot, eight-inch bed or a six-foot, six-inch bed. Buyers with a mind toward going off road will also rejoice in the return of the Z71 package, complete with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and additional under-body protection.
