1968 Camaro 396/375.

Summary:

396/375 with original type heads

Power steering and brakes

4 speed/12 bolt/3.73

New HEI, battery, fuel sending unit, Holley 4 barrel

New tick tock tach and center console

New Pioneer am/fm with mp3, 4 Kenwood speakers

Interior restored to original look

New radial tires and Cragar SS wheels

Engine/transmission: Period correct (396/402) block with hard to find original heads. Engine rebuilt to original specs with addition of Comp Cams camshaft providing a bit more juice than solid lifter (and better for today's gas; runs great on premium unleaded). Headers and dual exhaust. I added a brand new Holley carb.Told by previous owner the rear is 3.73. Chevy 12 bolt rear. 1969 cowl hood.

Suspension: Original type suspension. I added power front disc brakes and power steering.

Wheels: Added period Cragar S/S (just like I had back in the day) and radial tires.

Paint: As previously stated, green body with white stripes, including 1969 type cowl hood and rear spoiler (no front spoiler). Nice daily driver type quality in my view. Body solid. Overall paint, wheels and stance stops people in their tracks.

Interior: I inherited largely a period correct restoration of the interior. Have added a Pioneer head unit with 4 Kenwood speakers. Also added center console and tic-toc tach.

This has been a reliable daily driver that definately takes you back to 1968. If you are looking for a great ride that has the rumble, look and stance that you would have seen then, and in my view, needs nothing, this is your motorvation. That's why I bought it and have not been disappointed. Just wish I had more time and space in a new location.

Had respected independent muscle car restoration shop go through and do some of the modifications and inspect. Car needs nothing and can put you in touch with shop.

Can call me at 419.764.3374 or 703.631.1085 located Burke Va. And can provide many more photos.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.

Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
