1997 Camaro SS-SLP Convertible (WU8 Code). LT1 5.7 V8. 6 Speed with Hurst Shifter, Power: windows, locks, tilt cruise, mirrors, air, Power Top. cd changer, two tone leather interior, factory 17 inch corvette wheels, Kumho tires with lots of tread, keyless entry, auto headlights, SLP package includes: Ram Air, Bilstein Shocks, Rear Sway Bar, Differential Cover, Synthetic Oil and Hurst Shifter. Garage kept and covered, this SS is extra clean inside and out. Adult owned and pampered. 62k original miles. The rear was changed from a 3.42 to a 3.73 (Original 3.42 gears included) and the exhaust has been changed, and sounds awesome. Previous owner had a mishap (I was told a very small boat unhinged and hit the side of the car at a boat ramp) which required the outer drivers side door skin to be replaced. Not sure if they opted to paint the entire car but the paint and clear coat is in great condition. Car is now 16 years old and is not absolutely perfect because it isn't brand new but you would be hard pressed to find another one as sharp. Drives straight, brakes straight, shifts and runs perfectly, no knocks, smoke, pings or leaks. 1997 was the last year for front end fascia, the LTI engine and SLP upgrades that we done at the SLP factory. First year for new Interior and tri-colored taillights. I'm the 3rd owner. 1st. owner was a corporate lease. 2nd. owner bought the car and drove it very little and like me kept it covered in his garage. Rare, sharp, not abused, adult owned garage kept classic. You are welcome and encouraged to view the car in person prior to bidding. $ 500.00 dollar non-refundable pay pal deposit within 24 hours with the remainder paid in certified funds within 7 days. Car will not leave my possession before check clears. Will help with shipping but it's your responsibility to set up. You may also contact me if you have any questions. Auto-Check is showing 4 owners. I was told from previous owner that they bought the car in their business name and then transferred to their personal name.

New Chevrolet Silverado to be revealed on Facebook on Thursday

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

There's not much to see here, but if you're one of those waiting for the reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, above is the teaser image that Chevrolet posted on its Facebook page. We've seen the truck in form-fitting camo before, and even less can be made out here beyond those seriously punchy Silverado-esque fenders and the knowledge that the projector-beam headlamps teased previously do indeed work. We'll have to wait until Thursday for a full perusal of the "bold exterior design" and "careful attention given to every detail" we've been promised.
Gathering intel and rumors, magnesium and aluminum contribute to the Silverado's weight loss plan, the purported "High Country" top-tier trim will contribute to luxury pickup truck competition and profit margins and the next-generation small-block V8 will contribute to improved fuel economy. On the engine note, there have been rumors of available V6 engines, and when Facebook user John Jones asked "Where's your answer to that EcoBoost Chevy?", the Bowtie replied "stay tuned on the 13th. We think you'll be pleased...".
Along with the "Raise the Bar" tag, Chevrolet says of the Silverado, "You asked, we delivered." You can watch the reveal live on Chevrolet's Facebook page at 9:30 am EST, this Thursday, December 13. The GMC Sierra 1500 will also be there, and we'll see both in person at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
