For sale is a 1978 Camaro race car rolling chassis. No motor, trans, brake calipers etc. What you see in the more recent looking pics is what comes with the car. I have also include some pics when the car was being raced so those may have parts shown that do not come with the car. It is a purpose built race car and did not start out as a Camaro so it has no title. This car was built and driven by Bill Osborne, builder of the famous Big Red Camaro. You can even see that the motor builder of Big Red (Larry Mollicone) was used originally by the graphics on the original hood. Larry is still in business to my knowledge so if you need another motor built by him, I can get you in touch with him. I can see that Bill was not the last person to work on this car as some of the welds in some areas are a bit rough and is not representative of Bill's top notch fabrication. As you can see by the pics, the car need some work but all the important parts are there like the frame and suspension. Bill is known for his amazing chassis skills so this car should handle like no other after it is finished. These Camaros are wildly cool looking and this one will be a blast to drive after it is done. Sadly, the logbook is missing. There is a pic attached of it racing at Riverside though. I just have too many projects and not enough space so this bad boy has to go. I already have 1 Corvette and two Mustangs built or designed by Bill and they are all amazing vehicles on track. GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups
Mon, 14 Oct 2013General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.

Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested.
