Chevrolet Camaro 6 Speed Z 28 on 2040-cars

Year:1995 Mileage:40051
Location:

Leslie, Arkansas, United States

Leslie, Arkansas, United States

I purchased this car last October from the original owner with 37,000 miles on it.  It now has 40,000 miles.
When I got it, it was completely original, completely stock.
Since then, I have done the following:
I removed factory wheels and tires and changed them to 17 inch wheels.
The center caps in the wheels are from an early 80's Z 28.
Tires are VREDESTEIN SESSANTAS 270/40 ZR 17
(don't feel bad, I never heard of the brand either, but Google it and you will understand the quality of these tires)
There is $1300 in the tires and wheels
As soon as I got the car I changed brake pads all 4 corners ( I think it still had the originals on it). I changed the oil and filter with synthetic oil, even though the oil only had about 4,000 miles on it, to me it looked dirty.
I then got the cowl induction hood. The Harwood hood was $650. The original hood will go with the car.
When I had the hood painted, I also painted the mascara effect headlight buckets to match the car.
I installed brighter headlights,
I changed all 4 corner clearance lights to black lenses.
I then put beefed up driving/fog lights on that required relays.
I have kept all of the original lights which will go with the car.
I then went to work on the sound system.  It's a high end Pioneer with hands free telephone capabilities, navigation system, satellite radio, and a back-up camera installed in the rear bumper. Total cost of sound was $2,000. While the sound was being installed, I changed out all the factory speakers to a better quality speaker.  The lows are deep without rattling and the highs are crisp.  I also installed a sub/woofer and a separate amp in the trunk.
I don't know if you can see it in a pic or not, but the microphone for the hands free phone is in the center of the top of the windshield.  Hopefully, one of the photos shows the antennae for the satellite radio which is mounted in the center of the windshield side of the dashboard.
At the time I had the sound system installed, I also had all the windows tinted.  I don't remember the exact cost, but I think it was about $175.00.
The rear camera is wired so it can be used all the time whether you are driving or not.  Thus, I can use it as a rear view mirror, since the back window in this convertible is very, very small.
The CD/VCR player is also wired so it can be used while the vehicle is in motion in case the passenger wants to watch movies while enroute.

Everything I have done to this car has been strictly nuts and bolts.  So, if a purist out there wants it, it can all go back to stock.  The factory wheels are in exceptionally good condition and will go with the car including all the original lug nuts, including the locking nuts and lug wrench.  One of the wheels has a very slight scuff on it (you have to really look for it to even see it!)  The tires that came with it still have a lot of tread.  I was going to put pics of the factory wheels on the ad, but I don't know how to put more than 24 photos on the ad.  If anyone wants to see pictures of the wheels/tires, let me know and I will email them to you.
The convertible top was replaced by the original owner with a factory equipment top.
The car has never been in an accident.
I am not interested in any trade ins whether it has wheels or wings.
If you have to get permission from your wife, girlfriend, or Mommy, please do it before you bid.  I have had to start over with an ad before because someone wanted to purchase something without getting permission.
I am located approximately an hour and a half northwest of Little Rock, Arkansas if anyone would like to come take a test ride before bidding.  I have absolutely nothing to hide. I can't imagine if you like the color combination on this vehicle you could find one any nicer or better equipped.
Now that I have this looking exactly as I wanted it, I realized that I just don't enjoy a car this big.  I am used to having sports cars, and have purchased the Miata which you can see in some of the pictures.  The car has been garaged since I purchased it, and whereas the original owner claimed he had never driven it in the rain, there are times I have been out when it started raining, and rather than walk home, I decided to drive it!  The original owner was older, as I am also.  The car has never been driven hard or abused.
As can be seen in one of the pics, there is a wear mark on the lower side of the driver's seat.  That is the only thing I see wrong with the interior.  Since it has been driven for 40,000 miles-yes, there are a few stone chips in the front.  This is not a show car; I have kept in in my garage and not in my bedroom.  However, I feel it is exceptionally clean and way, way, way above average.
Gas mileage is claimed to be 17 and 25; whereas I myself have not checked that, it feels about right.
For anybody who does not want to come here and drive it home, I will not arrange shipping, but I will cooperate with your shipper to the best of my ability as long as I have a day's notice.
Anyone who would like additional pictures from different angles, or closeups, please let me know and I will try to accommodate you.   If anyone would like details not specified, call me and I will answer your questions as honestly as possible at phone number 501-745-6117.  Keep trying, I am not home much. As I am still driving this car occasionally, mileage will increase slightly.
There is no lien, I have the title right here.
The $200.00 deposit is via Paypal and is nonrefundable. Payment is expected in cash when car is picked up.  If paying by check in any form, check will have to be converted to cash before vehicle and title are released.  I realize that the honest buyers out there are in the majority, so I apologize if some of my remarks sound snide.  I am just tired of dealing with tire kickers who do not carry through with the transaction.  Thank you for your understanding.
There are probably things I have forgotten to mention.  When they come to me, I will add them to the ad.
I am sorry this text is so lengthy, but I could not figure a way to make it more concise.

GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.

Automakers score 8 out of top 20 most-watched ads on YouTube [w/videos]

Fri, 14 Dec 2012

Who would have ever thought there'd be a day where people are able to skip television commercials only to go to websites to watch them later? Such is the joy of a DVR and YouTube. AdWeek tabulated the 20 most-watched ads on YouTube, and found that nine were car-related including eight coming from automakers.
Volkswagen continued its Star Wars theme with two ads in the top 20, including the highest-ranking car commercial The Bark Side spot at number three with almost 18 million views, which doesn't even have a single car in it. Some of our favorites are from Chrysler with Clint Eastwood in It's Halftime in America and House Arrest with Charlie Sheen for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Chevrolet, Honda, Audi and Toyota were the other automakers in the top 20, but we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention one of the coolest ads on the list, the Hot Wheels corkscrew jump.
Of all the car videos, only the Fiat ad wasn't played during a Super Bowl. Check out all eight videos - in order - after the jump. Nike took the top spot with its My Time is Now ad that has been seen online more than 20 million times with Pepsi's Uncle Drew posted up in the runner-up; some of the other videos include four Old Spice commercials and an ad in which Snoop Dogg is pedaling Hot Pockets.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
