Fully loaded with every option available. She has been immaculately maintained since day 1. Starts right up. New battery, fluids, hoses and belts. Low 85,000 miles. If you follow the big auctions, the paperwork alone on this car is worth $5K. I've put all papers and manuals in a nice binder. I have about 90 pictures so please send me your email for pictures. She's got the 5.0 L V8, 4BBl 305 CID 4-speed manual that runs like new. Power disk brakes, computer command control, excellent tires, original inside and out. Dash in great condition, all instruments/gauges work. She's a head turner wherever she goes and has been in local car shows. She's not concourse, but she's an 8/10 and for her age, is unbelievable!"

"Red Hot" is a beautiful unrestored, original 1981 Z28 Camaro with original Fisher T-tops.  I am the second owner and have only put on less than 70 miles in the 1-1/2 yrs I've owned her.  The original owner bought this car in Oregon.  It has always been garaged or stored.  The paint is in excellent condition for her age (although of course is not perfect) with no dents, dings or noticeable scratches.  All original decals/emblems/graphics.  The interior is in excellent shape.  Carpet is in really good condition, although for safety I have added custom front and rear silver/red Z28 floor mats and a nice silver dashmat.  The front dash is in excellent condition as well.  All gauges work great.  The original owner passed away in early 2012, and his daughter couldn't drive a stick so sold it to a broker in Phoenix.  He didn't even have it out for sale, I saw it, saw the paperwork that came with the car and the condition it was in, and bought it immedialely.  I paid $300 for a private car hauler to deliver it to me in Payson, where it's been garaged ever since, and only driven to keep it running good and to take to car shows.

I HAVE ABOUT 90 PICTURES, SO PLEASE SEND ME YOUR EMAIL AND I WILL SEND YOU ANYTHING YOU NEED TO SEE!

The paperwork with this car has to be seen to be believed.  The daughter even gave a copy of her father's death certificate.  All receipts/manuals/dealer paperwork/original window sticker since day 1.  If she needed an oil change or maintenance work, this guy kept the receipt.  The original window sticker in 1981 with all the options was over $10,000.  Original manuals on everything.  Original warranty paperwork, title paperwork, registration papers, odometer disclosure, everything you could possibly ask for in a car.  If you follow the collector car auctions, the paperwork alone will add $5K to the value of this car.  When I purchased her, I had my best mechanic look her over bumper to bumper and he couldn't really find anything to fix.  I did have all the fluids drained and changed, bought a new battery, hoses and belts and filters.  Brakes are in excellent condition, as the previous owner had everything services routinely, as you can see by the receipts he has kept.  The tires are in great shape.  The engine is so clean you could eat off of it.  As far as I was told by the broker, from the daughter, this is a number matching vehicle and I don't see any reason why this wouldn't be true.  The original spare tire, jack, and instructions are still in the trunk.  No rust on the body anywhere.  It has the original t-top leather bags, and I bought a brand new custom-fitted waterproof locking car cover for her.  As far as the paint, the only thing the daughter told the broker was that she thinks at some point on the right passenger rear fender, her father had a shop repaint a scratch or scuff, over the wheelwell.  You can't even tell by looking at it that this was done, but in honesty, this was what was told to me when I purchased her.

Here's the "not so perfect" things:  The original cassette stereo is in the vehicle...the original owner apparently had taken out some sort of equalizer and didn't re-hook up the radio before he passed, so that just needs to be hooked up.  Also, as is in the case with most cars/trucks/vans of this era, the plastic interior panels in the back, where the backseat passengers and the seatbelts were, are scuffed and scratched, and I have pictures to show what this looks like.  This is very very typical for unrestored/original cars and was always a problem because of how they were made.  Also, the split headliner in the back, on both sides of the center roof console, are starting to come down where they meet the back window.  Again, I have pictures of that.  He just put some scotch tape to hold them, but I think with just some headliner or interior spray glue, these will be a very easy fix and shouldn't have to require a new headliner.  The carpet has no holes or burns, in great shape for it's age.  There are some typical key scuff marks on the steering column where the ignition key is.  The driver's door speaker is missing a grill.  That's pretty much the extent of what's wrong with this car.

The 4-speed manual is the kind for this year where in order to start the car or kill it, it has to be in reverse...which is a "lift up and forward" maneuver.

Again, this is as original as it gets and as much paperwork as you could ever want in a classic car.  She's a joy to drive.  Not a ton of horsepower, but still the biggest engine offered and she's got a nice rumble.  She doesn't leak so much as a drop of anything.  If you know your cars, the more original the car is, the more the collector crowd like them, and the value given for the paperwork will always put this car ahead of any other ones for this year/model etc.  The bucket seats are in great shape.  Power disk drum brakes, computer command control system, working hood scoop, rear spoiler, special instrumentation, floor console, sport steering wheel, sport mirrors (LH remote, RH manual), sport suspension, front stabilizer bars, power steering.  Even the carpet in the trunk is in great shape.

The car is in my garage in Payson, Arizona.  If a buyer needs time to get this picked up or shipped, I will be okay with garaging this for up to a month for you.  If you can't find a shipper or a way to pick this up, then try U-Ship.  You will get offers from dozens of private and commercial shippers.  Please, don't bid or make an offer unless you are serious and have the money to purchase.  I will ask for a $2500 nonrefundable deposit through Paypal and will ask for final payment within 10 days of the deposit being made.  Any longer, please contact me and I can possibly work with you.

Please check  my feedback.  I am a very honest person and will tell you what I know.  Please check with Hemmings valuator or Haggarty, etc. to see the values placed on this type of car (even without the paperwork) and the projected values in the next couple of years.  This car will continue to go up in value, as the comparable cars (the Trans-Ams) are now way overvalued because of what Barrett-Jackson sells them for nowadays.  To find one in this condition in this original shape with the paperwork is almost impossible and will continue to get more value for the car.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics

Mon, 20 Aug 2012

After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Veyron and C7 Corvette join cast of Transformers 4

Wed, 29 May 2013

Like the Fast & Furious franchise, the Michael Bay-directed series of Transformers movies has become known as much for its bad acting as its impressive lineup of cars. As filming just started for Transformers 4, Bay's website has confirmed two new cars for the next installment as well as a makeover for everyone's favorite tractor trailer hero, Optimus Prime.
Joining the cast of T4 are a "race-inspired" Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. While Bay's website did not supply names for either car, Bugatti is reporting on its Facebook page that the Veyron will join the Autobots. Speaking of the good guys, top Autobot Optimus Prime is getting an all-new body based on a Western Star with a gaudy appearance that was seemingly inspired by Trick My Truck - right down to the six smoke stacks and side pipes!
