1966 CHEVY CAPRICE 2 DOOR COUPE
283 / V-8 ~ 2 BARREL CARB ~ AUTOMATIC POWER-GLIDE TRANSMISSION
BRAND NEW WALKER DUAL EXHAUST ~ NEW FAN BELT~ NEW BATTERY
NEW FRONT BRAKES AND WHEEL CYLINDERS REAR BRAKES GOOD AND 4 NEW TIRES. (200 miles on them)
NEW BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER ~ FRESH TUNE UP AND OIL CHANGE
THIS CAR SHOWS 16,000 ON THE ODOMETER. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A MAN WHO
HAD BOUGHT IT FROM AN ESTATE. HE "ASSUMED" IT WAS 116,000 DUE TO THE
CARS AGE. HOWEVER, AFTER HAVING WORKED ON IT AND EXAMINING IT FURTHER, I
BELIEVE IT MAY ACTUALLY BE ONLY 16,000 MILES. THESE ARE A FEW OF THE
REASONS I BELIEVE THAT.
*THE SPARK PLUG WIRES ARE STAMPED "DELCO", WHICH WAS GM'S WIRES USED IN THE 1966 TIME PERIOD.
* THE STEERING WHEEL HAS NO WEAR AT ALL, NOR DOES THE BRAKE PEDAL WHERE YOU WOULD HAVE WEAR FROM SWITCHING FROM BRAKE TO GAS.
* THE FRONT SEAT "PIPING" AROUND THE SEAT BACK WHERE YOU WOULD GET IN
AND GET OUT HAS NO WEAR, NOR DOES THE DRIVER'S SIDE ARMREST OR DOOR
PANEL TOP.
* THE ORIGINAL FLOOR MATS ARE IN THE CAR AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE MAT HAS LITTLE WEAR.
* THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL, BOOKLETS, AND "PROTECT-O-PLATE" (VERY RARE) ARE STILL WITH THE CAR.
*THE ORIGINAL 4 RIMS AND 4 FACTORY HUBCAPS ARE IN THE TRUNK IN GREAT CONDITION. NO DENTS OR DINGS ON WHEEL COVERS
*THE HEADLIGHTS THAT WERE IN THE CAR ARE "T-3"'S AND ARE DATE CODED 1965.
*THE BATTERY CLAMP IS STILL AN ORIGINAL 1966 STYLE SPRING CLAMP.
I AM TOLD THIS CAR SAT IN A GARAGE FOR MANY YEARS, (Last inspected
1984), HOWEVER FOR ABOUT THE PAST 7 YEARS IT SAT OUTSIDE, THUS THE TOP
SURFACE RUST. THIS CAR IS A GREAT CANDIDATE FOR A NICE PAINT JOB AND
SOME OTHER MINOR ISSUES TO BRING BACK TO HER ORIGINAL GLORY.
THE CAR ALSO COMES WITH ITS 4 ORIGINAL STEEL RIMS AS WELL AS ITS 4 WHEEL
COVERS THAT ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION (NO DINGS!) PROTECT-PLATE AND
MANUALS INCLUDED.
THE FLOAT HANGS UP ONCE IN A WHILE IN THE CARB BUT IS AN EASY FIX. THERE
ARE TWO SPOTS IN THE TRUNK THAT NEED ATTENTION AS WELL. (SEE PHOTOS)
THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND FRAME , INNER AND OUTER ROCKERS, ARE SOLID. ALL
ORIGINAL FLOOR PANS AND ARE SOLID AS WELL.....NO PATCHES!. THE FACTORY RADIO IS IN TACT BUT IS NOT WORKING.
SURFACE RUST ON ROOF, HOOD AND TRUNK.
THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL AND DOOR PANELS, HEADLINER(VERY SMALL TEAR) AND REAR SEAT LOOK
AWESOME. FRONT SEAT MATERIAL INSERTS NEED ATTENTION BUT THE VINYL PART
OF THE SEAT IS LIKE NEW. A REAL NICE CLASSIC/ANTIQUE THAT CAN BE DRIVEN
AND ENJOYED "AS IS" OR WHILE YOU ARE FIXING HER UP.
THE CARBURETOR NEEDS A REBUILD AS THE FLOAT HANGS UP ONCE IN A WHILE. WHEN I FIRST STARTED THE ENGINE IT SMOKED. I CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER AND ADDED A QUART OF MARVEL MYSTERY OIL TO SOFTEN UP THE VALVE GUIDE SEALS ETC. THE CAR BARELY SMOKES AT ALL BUT AT TIMES THERE IS SOME WHEN FIRST STARTING. I BELIEVE THAT AS IT IS DRIVEN IT WILL CLEAR UP COMPLETELY.. THERE IS SURFACE RUST ON THE ROOF AND SOME OF THE HOOD. THERE IS SOME MINOR RUST STARTING AROUND REAR WINDOW.
THE TWO TRUNK CORNERS ARE WHAT NEEDS ATTENTION. SEE PHOTO. THEY DO SELL THE PANELS FOR THAT PARTICULAR AREA AND I BELIEVE THAT WAS A COMMON AREA FOR RUST IN THESE CARS. AGAIN...ALL FLOOR PANS ARE ORIGINAL AND SOLID. BUMPERS AND GRILLE ARE STRAIGHT AND CLEAN. I CHECKED REAR BRAKES AND THEY ARE GOOD AS ARE BRAKE CYLINDERS. THE FRONT BRAKE CYLINDER WAS SEEPING SO I REPLACED BOTH FRONT CYLINDERS AND BRAKES/HARDWARE.
THERE HAS BEEN SOME REPAIR ON EACH REAR QUARTER BEHIND THE WHEEL. (NOT DONE BY ME).
THIS CAR CRUISES VERY NICELY DOWN THE ROAD. STEERS LIKE ITS ON AIR, AND TRACKS STRAIGHT WHEN YOU LET GO OF THE WHEEL (NOT RECOMMENDED..LOL). WITH A LITTLE TLC SHE WILL BE A VERY NICE CLASSY CRUISER.
YOU HAVE READ THE ABOVE FACTS... 116,000 OR 16,000 ? i HONESTLY CANT ADVERTISE IT AS 16,000, BUT THAT IS MY OPINION... BUT EVEN IF IT WAS 116,000...THAT IS STILL GOOD MILEAGE FOR A 1966. THE ENGINE PURRS. ORIGINAL JACK IS IN TRUNK AS WELL.
BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL SHIPPING COSTS. THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD "AS IS". WITH NO GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY EXPRESSED, SPOKEN OR IMPLIED. I HAVE TRIED TO BE AS OPEN AND HONEST WITH THIS CAR AS I COULD. MY FEEDBACK RATING SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. BUYER TO PAY A $500 NON RETURNABLE DEPOSIT VIA PAYPAL OR CASHIERS CHECK WITHIN 5 DAYS END OF AUCTION. BALANCE TO BE PAID WITHIN 10 DAYS END OF AUCTION DATE OR BUYER LOSES THE DEPOSIT.
THIS VEHICLE IS BEING ADVERTISED LOCALLY AS WELL. SELLER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK BEFORE YOU BID.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FINANCES, PLEASE DO NOT BID. IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 FEED BACKS, SELLER HAS THE RIGHT TO NOT ACCEPT THE BID. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK!
GLEN

This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.

While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
